I actually like the yards with those silly topiaries. Haha. Not because they look good. But because it's a bit of novelty and a bit of fun. 😄

Great tutorial series. I am a horticulturalist and this series is no doubt the best series I have seen on youtube in regards to pruning. There is alot of rubbish out there.

thank you so much for your series on japanese garden pruning! it’s absolutely fantastic learning prep so i will be ready in spring! by the way, cutting above the collar was a gem tip as no one has mentioned it before in the tons of videos i’ve been watching about bonsai.

Lady is only highlighting the things on Pessimistic way. Every instance is about what is wrong. Why don't you show the correct way graphically for every example?

This is great, I love that you're showing the longer term outcomes of the various cuts. My question is: is there any way to actually keep a tree's height under control, if topping them is undesirable?

If only I realised this before I let mine which runs along the entire length of my garden grow too far out, now I’ve got no path left and it’s a very slim garden, what a mistake, this plant should come with a warning 😅

Still true today; it hasn't stopped. I wonder what percent is impervious now? Cass did not foresee whole neighborhoods of single-family homes being replaced by 8 story apartment buildings. We need little open spaces throughout the city, not just "oh let's put it somewhere else."

Do not come to Miami, every person here hates nature. Q-tip trees abound. Or half trees, so so so bad.

I love my rhodos but they are invading my new neighbor's back yard. She started hacking them back "on her side" right before they bloomed. That is her right but she never even had the decency to talk first. Ugh. I need to cut it way back!

Is there any particular place on the wood to cut at? My plant is short and wide, but I want it to be tall and narrow. Can I cut very close to the soil, and expect the remaining few inches of wood to grow green leaves? Or do I need to cut a particular spot, or reserve a minimum length of wood?

Well relieved to see a hard prune on the Mexican mock orange. Just did that today cuz we have this wonderful rainy spell here and it's done all it's blooming. it was definitely getting too big for its space. So I figure it has a chance to recover in the milder temperature before the fall cold.
