Listen guys. I took my exam June 3 2024. I didnt use ANY Q BANK nor review program. I focused heavily on fundamentals, prioritization and most commonly tested [must know] diseases and drugs. My exam stopped at 85 Qs and 3 days later, i found out i passed. My advice is, dont use Q banks. Understand the basic concept of eqch topic. Dont memorize anything except the necessary ones, like dietary recommendations. Lastly.... utilize your common sense, especially on the exam day.

your video helped me pass. thank you. i'd like to offer some inspiration to others out there. i graduated nursing school in may 2016 in florida. i took it 3x and failed at max 265 questions. during those times i just had a son. i feel into a deep rut. dad life took over. i still worked in healthcare as an ER tech. 1 day became 1 year. 1 year became 8 years. i had a daughter. life happens. i gave up. i assumed i was done and was unable to test again. that "assumption" was just another tactic or excuse i told myself. i pursued healthcare informatics/IT, i started taking courses to complete some certifications etc. but in Oct 2023 i just thought about all the hard times during nursing school. sleeping in my car after working night shifts for an hour then heading back to class and doing clinicals etc. a new coworker of mine was in teh same exact situation as me and suggested i tried to apply out of state. of course i made more excuses "ah ok ill check it out later" etc. one day she told me she was applying to a diff state during work and she helped me apply/send transcripts etc. of course i thought and assume oh my stuff is too old etc. 3 days later i got my ATT. right then and there i felt a rush of adrenaline and i realized i had a second chance at life again. i applied to the NC boards but was still able to take it in my hometown in florida. mind you ive been out of the nclex game for 8 years! i got my att before thanksgiving and scheduled my test at the end of january to give me more time esp with holidays etc. i only used archer. ONLY archer. i thought of the other popular methods but i wanted only 1 resource this time because my past i felt like i used to many. i followed the 6 week archer schedule. everyones different but i wanted to share how i did it and what i would change. i actually tried to watch the videos. i took notes for a week and was so frustrated (not archers fault). i felt so slow doing that. so what i did was, i would see the "video topic" and do quesitons on that topic only . for example lets say for a "monday" the schedule says cardiac video and OB video. i would do 50 questions of cardiac only, take a break, then 50 questions on OB. (do as many or little as u want). thats all i did! i would do 50 quesions on the specific topics accordint to the archer 6 week schedule and i followed the CAT and readiness test schedules too. of course i was nervous as heck at test time since it had been so long. it was obviously the samse test center that i failed THREE times 8 years ago. so i had some anxiety and PTSD seeing the building and going inside. the new gen test to me was easier to test. i dont mean easier like the test itself was easier but i felt comfortable cause it was same format as archer! i actually enjoyed the NGN questions/case studies!! i still got all max question which is i think 150. i took my son camping that follwoing weekend and didnt want to check until i got back. my wife who has supported me throught out this entire process was with me (kids asleep) when i went ahead and checked after i got back from camping with my son. i did the "get results early" $8 (maybe its a florida thing). i just bursted out crying when i saw i passed. i had been holding those emotions in for 8 years. but still kept the dream deep in the back of my mind the entire time. i hope i can inspire people like how katie inspired me to get back. i couldnt pass fresh out of school (x3) but was able to 8 years later and with 2 kids (7 and 4). never give up, i did but i came back stronger. i start my residency in step down cvicu open heart in april at the same hospital i was an er tech at. i hope to do that for 1-2 years and transition to cvicu open heart. i wanted to give extra thanks to the north carolina boards for making the nclex application process butter smooth easy and getting my ATT so fast. they gave me a second chance at life. i highly recommend them to anyone in a similar situation as me

Thank you SO much for sharing this, brother! I graduated with a bachelor’s in nursing in 2017 and I never tried to take the exam because I told myself it was not my passion. I also let life get by but I realized that life somehow still feels incomplete. I have been feeling like I still need to accomplish something that’s been hanging on my shoulders. I got my ATT and I am currently studying only with Archer as well. But it has been a struggle for me because I would take notes and put them on Quizlet flashcards. I spoke with my husband last night, feeling so discouraged, and I told him how I think I am wasting my time re-writing everything on what is now up to 719 flashcards and barely on week 2 of the 6-week calendar as well. I have been on week 2 for almost a month… And I know that I won’t be able to read all of those flashcards if I try to stay on track with the schedule. Here I am, struggling and finding hope and I came across your comment! God is so good and I thank you so much for sharing your strategy. I will try this starting today! God bless you and your family, brother. May you succeed much more in your days to come.
@itr08636 ай бұрын
@@agoodmanswife hey! That’s exactly how I felt writing those damn notes during the videos. I felt like I was wasting time for the 2 weeks or so I was doing those notes. Your situation is almost exactly the same. Remember i did a specific number of questions on the specific topic. If you feel weak on a certain topic, simply just do more questions on that topic. I was running out of time so I couldn’t do more than 50. I wanted to at least do all the topics and then focus on the cat tests etc. I relate it to sports. Let’s say football ok. I felt my original method was too focused on reading the playbook(note taking/flashcards) rather than focusing on specific skills(questions on specific topic) and then scrimmaging against other teams(cat/readiness tests) if that makes sense. I understand where you’re coming from obviously. That’s why you commented. We are in similar situations. But it’s Gods plan that you came across my comment. You won’t need as much content for the new Nclex as u think. Most of the content is usually included in the question or case study. Will you understand all the content when you take the nclex? Probably not. BUT neither did I because I focused more on answering more practice questions. My point is, you having more time doing archer questions will prepare u to answer real questions on the Nclex. Obviously you won’t be like “ooh I remember this question on archer” BUT you will be versed in similar questions because of being familiar to the style of them on archer AS OPPOSED to doing flash cards or me writing video notes. Btw when I went back and looked at my video notes? I didn’t even remember writing 80% of them. Do what works for you I just wanted to say that in my situation that the entirety of me writing notes on those videos was a complete waste of time and I could have used those 2 to 3 weeks focusing on the specific topic and doing way more questions. Keep me posted please! And let me know what new method works for u

Congratulations on passing nclex 😊🎉🎉 and thank you so much for the tips. Where can I see what my weaknesses are in archer? I had used uworld for the longest time, and newly using archer as my friend said it looked more like the nclex, I took the readiness assessments, where I borderline pass them, as well as the cat exam, but would love to know my overall areas of weakness. I take mine in less than 1 week and I’m a tad anxious
