Did it say 9000 hours on the tacho? and today it's 16000+ hours?
@isilver789 күн бұрын
Probably pretty close. This test flight was after the ~15,000 hour TT refurbishment program, so it must be in the mid 20k range now.

I used to work at a FedEx shipping center, everyone is told to just throw everything and insurance will pay if its broken even if it says fragile on the box. When the CEO came to visit we were told to stop throwing packages for the day and all of a sudden do an exercise routine we have never ever done but pretended we do it everyday. I was laid off because I used osha approved rollers that go in the plane containers to make it easier and safer unloading them. My fat lazy boss told me to stop using them or they'll report me for wasting time. I stopped at the end of my shift and used them till I was done, next day they were wrapped in plastic wrap and I was put on loading them now and then fired the following week since I was still a temp. hostile workplace that gives zero fucks about your packages.

Definitely a difference in how beat to hell my packages are from FedEx vs. how much better they look via UPS around here.

I love my Sierra! I never get to see the gear swing. I hear the emergency drop is wild to see, it scared the guys in the shop doing the annual :) I had a gear indicator light go out a few months ago and had to ask the tower if all of my wheels were down. I immediately had 2 pilots chirp in and say yes they are down!!! It was good to see others trying to help.
@TheWeedkiller92 Жыл бұрын
The nice thing about this landing gear is that it automatically extends due to the springs. So if the squad switch doesn't work anymore and the indication is wrong, you can be 99% sure that the landing gear is down and locked. If in doubt just turn the handle for emergency gear extension. Then you can be 100% sure.

I flew for this operation for 7 months as a Captain on the Phenom 100. I already had almost 12,000 hrs and 4 other type ratings - so I didn't "need" the time OR the type rating. I quickly learned the company's culture was more about $$$$ than their "talk of safety first", "we don't ever push the Captain to do anything he's uncomfortable with..." etc. They "talked the talk" but didn't "walk the walk". 75% of the "observers" they put in the right seat to fly with me couldn't "talk on the radio", keep up with clearance changes enroute, understand things like "descend via", "climb via", "comply with speeds at...", "descend to cross...." etc. I also learned "after signing the training promissory note" why they have such a high pilot turnover - pilots come, stay long enough to get what time they need to move onto better companies (like the Majors).

Freaking awesome !!!! 👍👍👍👍 Great landing !! I Just don't get why German Air force pilots simply hated the F-104, loosing lots of them back in the 80's.....
@geraldheinig42053 жыл бұрын
German pilots certainly didn't hate them, they absolutely loved them! I've never seen an interview of a German F-104 pilot where he even remotely criticises the plane. On the contrary, they all sing its praises. Their widows and the German press, on the other hand...
