Sir William Crichton is my 17th great-grandfather. Can't wait to visit Scotland & see this castle.

It was a shame the castle was not open during filming to show the unique wall construction. And you got to love David's homeland tartan scarf.

Hi Max, I did a similarly themed video in March of this year. kzbin.info/www/bejne/hqKkf2iIpsimfbs. I'm old enough to remember the "Fairy Pools" before they were even called that and no one else was there. I also recall visiting the Fairy Glen and being the only person there in June (and have photographic evidence). The problem seems to have accelerated in the last 7 years. I run a small tourism business and know that people seem to think they "have to" see Skye, but there's so much more that's great in Scotland and I try to open their minds to other options.

This is really good. I have just come back from Skye, whilst I thought it was stunning I was also left with a deep concern about the influx of tourists to the island (which is hypocritical I know). Probably the first alarming thing was building more parking at the old man of storr combined with massive footpath erosion scarring the side of the mountain. Then, at the Quiraing there was further soil erosion at the top of the cliffs where people take pictures of the landscape. Neist point had about 30 people all taking a pic of the same sunset! I hope that Skye does not lose what makes it great.
