Can the same subwoofer fulfill LFE and bass management duties at the same time?
@genelec
@genelec 9 күн бұрын
Yes, as long as the subwoofer is big and capable enough. It also depends how many speakers routed through the subwoofer. If you have certain system in mind, don't hesitate to send us e-mail at [email protected] and we are happy to help more in details. 😊

Love my Genelecs 8030 cpm, after watching the video I tried the low bass -4 dB and have improved a lot! Before I thought it was only to be used with a subwoofer because the 85 hZ target frequency… Is there any difference between G3 and 8030 cpm? Perhaps the sensibility?
@genelec
@genelec 9 күн бұрын
The G Three and 8030C are quite similar, but they do have some differences. These include variations in sensitivity, the configuration of their DIP switches, and the color of the LED.🙂

A great grade report. Thanks. Question: The grade report showed I had some dipps. Do the genelec calibrater correction for dipps? I belive you mentioned that dipps need to be adjusted in the room by absorbing material or by EQ. I use antelope galaxy in my studio. I adjusted the dipps frequencies in antelope using the parametric eq for the outputs. That gave more punch bass response. Dipps in report are at 75-85 Hz and 400-450 Hz Let me know if that is the correct way to solve it. My room is very small. I have acoustic correction in the room with 10 cm absorbers behind the speakers, in the back corners and on the side walls first hit points. I use 3 dim. diffsuers in the area behind my listenting position Some info: GLMsetup name Studio G8351b.sam Group name Studio G8351b Group description Room dimensions (LxWxH)(m/ft): 3.50 x 2.63 x 2.41 / 11.5 x 8.6 x 7.9 Room volume (m3 / ft3): 22 / 800 Calibration mode: AutoCal2

Thanks for the feedback! Yes, indeed dips caused by cancellations cannot be compensated using positive gain filters. If you boost the specific range, you won't see a better response at the listening spot, but the higher energy will become problematic at other spots of the room. If you want to get detailed feedback, please send your GRADE report to [email protected] ...

Minimalism in honor, but the sub looks as exciting as an air purifier.
@DMSparky
@DMSparky Ай бұрын
@marcogee7503 If it were up to the interior designers there would be no subwoofers anywhere. This look is very unobtrusive which is what designers and architects want. It might be hung in a ceiling in a retail store or mounted on a wall in a restaurant or on the floor in the corner of a conference room. So a little box makes a lot of sense.

It’s no surprise that Mistuda San created this kind of environment. His music in Chrono Cross in particular had a very Gaelic sound (like a lot of the music in the background of this video). Thank you for creating the best soundtrack to a video game in my childhood. It’s great to hear from the man himself.

I see on the image with the headline W371 that you have a slightly tilted frequency response. All studios should have a frequency response in the listening position that is very close to what is known as "the Harman curve." This is a "listener preference curve", but on top of that, it is very close to what you get if you take a loudspeaker that measures flat in an anechoic room (4pi) and bring it into a room (2pi). A flat response in the listening spot can eat up electrical headroom since the LF needs to be EQ'ed to make it sound good. Listening to well-recorded reference recordings is extremely important when determining the degree of tilt to the curve. Unfortunately, it's very common today that people have only worked in rooms with minimal treatment and without it ever being properly tuned by an acoustician, so they don't necessarily know what it should sound like. An acoustician who has experience from hundreds of well-functioning studios, where highly skilled engineers with a proven record for great sounding end results have worked, will know what it should sound like. Without such help in setting up the system, there is often a lack of confidence and time wasted. The result is returned mixes from the artist or returns from the mastering studio.

@genelec

Not a weird question at all. To avoid reflections from your body and head, you should stay outside the direct sound field during calibration. This is why we have the 5 seconds countdown. But you can stay in the room for sure. All the best!

@@genelec Thanks for taking note of my comment. I did already contact the Genelec support over a month ago, but the issue is still pending. I think it's not a big deal for the software team to put an on/off switch there. As much as the 9310A impresses me, it's simply out of my budget for a "volume knob". So I am depending on the 9210B and I think there are more of my kind out there.

Very interesting product but imho was made too niche to be useful for a broader segments of users (an audio card with no input or adat expansion?), so I would love to see a slimmed down version with no audio interface to replace the current glm box + volume knob

Can we please get an upate for GLM5 so that the 9310B volume knob does not jump volume due to the fixed System Startup Level? The 9310B is not an encoder so it does matter. The System Startup Level feature is useless - not to say annoying - for everyone with a 9310B. I am not going to buy a EUR 1000+ controller just to fix this issue.

@@genelec The 9320A is cool and tempting if you have enough spare small change. But it's definitely out of my budget for just a "volume knob" so I am depending on the 9310B and the GLM5 software to behave accordingly in combination with it. It shouldn't be too difficult for the sofware team to add an on/off feature to disable the "System Startup Level" feature entirely. Please don't let us small people and 9310B users suffer any longer and quickly let us disable this feature which is surely great for people who can afford the 9320A.
