If I'm to use a 21700 battery in this, I'd rather get the M21B. Same head diameter as the S11, similar reflector as the S11, and actually sized for 21700 with way better cooling surfaces.

I love Brinyte!! I have them both, and love both of them. I also have the SR8(can style thrower). To me I really like the quality, comfort ( beautiful clicky) and style. I actually just got the LZ01 (Lep) and like no surprise, =AMAZING!!(ADJUSTABLE LEP) THANK YOU FOR YOUR GREAT REVIEW

Interesting. I bought this light from your store before I saw this video. Can identify the chip on the front ribs in your video. Says 8 amp driver but am only able to get 4 tailcap amps with a vapcell p54.

It makes dark things light, I know you can get geeky about silly stuff but at the end of the day it's a cheap torch that works. I don't see the issue. Why don't you perhaps compare to a "good" torch for the same price and show what you're missing?

One of Simon's 26mm flat top adapters would probably solve the loose battery issue. It's a round PCB with a conductive button in the middle. He includes them with the L7 so you can use two flat top 26650's in series.

The Fenix TAC switch with the mode selector ring and two-stage tail switch is the perfect dual mode tactical/utility user interface, and is the same one Fenix has been making and using for years, on the PD36 TAC and TK11 TAC before the TK22 TAC. The author of this video simply doesn't understand how to operate it, because he didn't read the manual. This is a clear case of user error. To operate any Fenix light with the same UI, you use the mode selector ring to select Lock (center), Tactical (right), or Utility (left), then use the two-stage tail switch to activate the light. It takes a substantial amount of force to fully depress the tail switch, and people who have never used a true tactical flashlight may not be used to this. In Tactical Mode, a half depress of the tail switch gives momentary Turbo mode, a full depress latches the unit on, and a full depress and hold for 2 seconds activates the strobe. There is only one brightness level in Tactical Mode, 2800 lumens.A half press will go from Strobe to Turbo, and a full press will turn it off. In Utility mode, a half press momentarily activates the last used brightness level (or Eco if no memory is saved), and a full press latches it on. A half press will then cycle up through the modes: Eco, Low, Med, High. A full press turns it off again (with memory), and a full press and hold for 2 seconds activates the Strobe. The PD36 TAC and TK22 TAC are two of the best tactical lights on the market. Get the PD36 TAC if your primary usage is short range, such as with a handgun, and the TK22 TAC if your primary use is longer range, such as with a rifle. They are effectively the same light, except the size of the reflector head, and the fact that the PD36 TAC has access to Turbo in Utility mode, and the TK22 TAC has a slightly newer emitter. In fact, I'd go so far as to recommend getting both of them. The smaller head of the PD36 TAC makes the beam spread a little wider, and the wider head of the TK22 TAC makes the beam more concentrated at longer distances.

@kylam9874 @Chaliceoflight If yours have red colored driver then it's a 5a driver (with 4,2v it spews over 6a). If it's blue; it's the 8a buck driver. This led have similar efficiency as SST40, as tested by member of TLF & BLF ; Koef @@ChalliceofLight

I have this c8g and I've gotta say it's still competitive to other new lights out now, my only complaint is you can't recharge the battery with out removing it, the c8l is also another good one

YES I'd agree with that assessment. Solid light, great feel and build quality but that half-hearted attempt at being a tactical thrower just throws it off for me. A combination beam like that from an xhp70.3 , which when paired with a pebbled reflector makes it too floody for tactical or self-defense purposes. It needs a lot more candela. Whereas its too big and the double tailswitch UI is incongruent with a general purpose flashlight. This light although well designed just doesnt hit the mark.
