Hi Jeff, hope you're well...this album I am not as familiar with, probably only hearing it a few times years apart.i probably need to hear it many more times before giving an opinion. I have the 2cd bootleg version to still listen to,maybe tomorrow, so your years of listening to this is going to help me understand it better..I've jumped a couple of videos, because this follows next in albums to listen to in the book I am following as I listen..looking forward to immersing myself in this..

Some folks don’t like that Robbie Robertson included The Band songs and used some overdubbing on the 1975 release but I like that release better than the more recently released “complete” tapes. But I am weird.

Hey Jeff, this is almost impossible for me but there is one song that I would play just after a knock down drag out fight with my first wife. You've got a lotta nerve to say you are my friend "When I was down you just stood there grinnin'." Actually I've used that on a few people. And then when I have to apologize I play- Ramona, come closer Shut softly your watery eyes The pangs of your sadness Will pass as your senses will rise.

@CalicoSilver I've been watching the show on and off. Now that I know the way Danny's dad was I'm focused on black and blue marks on Danny. I haven't seen any but I took note to swelling on the right side of his face on different episodes. His dad must of been left handed? Jerk!

This has nothing to do with the albums but I remember watching Come on Get Happy: The Partridge Family Story. I really enjoyed this movie. After it aired on TV I tried to find every where I went because I was hooked. Even tried to find it on my firestick cinema. The movie was listed but no links were provided. I recently found it online. It's tough to watch looking a the screen of my phone. But was still glad to see it again after all these years.

I am not sure if I have ever seen that movie or not. Thanks for reminding me of it.

@CalicoSilver I wasn't sure either, I had to look it up. 1999. It showed a lot I didn't know about like Danny's dad was jealous and would beat Danny. The cast took turns inviting Danny to their houses over the weekend. That way they knew he wouldn't show up on Monday morning with a black eye. True story.

Listened to this yesterday jeff again, while doing my re listening session. It is a great live document, like the philharmonic cd.i love it how he just gets on with it,as if he knows years later when people hear this they are going to get it and feel stupid for the ignorance of his talents and where he was going. The Band are fantastic, something i hadn't really appreciated first listen round, this is a classic..how i wish i could tell those people to appreciate this foresight..brilliant

Indeed, John. For quite some time after this CD set was released it was kept on repeat in my player. It is an amazing live document indeed. Thanks. Jeff

I agree with everything you said. The Partridge Family had some really good songs. I woke up in love this morning is still a great song. Plus there are many others. Thank you for not being rude and bashing them and not trying to be funny like so many talentless other people. Very classy!

Thank you, Scott. I really appreciate your comment. Yes, these are some very enjoyable albums even after all these years. I do hear them with a bit of bittersweet feeling since David Cassidy passed too early, but I will always be happy that I am not too “hip” to know well-produced and well-recorded sunshine pop when I hear it. Love it! Cheers. Jeff

Sometimes I love this album and other times I don't like it. It is a weird album for me. But there are some tracks that will always be favorites. And I just like these years when Dylan seemed to be actually happy because it comes across in the music.

Thanks, John. Comments like yours are precisely what have encouraged me to keep this channel alive. Thanks for the encouragement. Excellent explanation on a superb song by Neil! I recently bought a book on Crosby Stills Nash and Young (The Wild, Definitive Saga of Rock's Greatest Supergroup) which is excellent, but what a soap opera of a band. So much for peace and love when it comes to those 4 characters. Neil will always be my favorite. I also love his song "Hippie Dream" which I am pretty sure was aimed at David Crosby.

Greetings, my friend. My name is Johnnie, pushing 76 (how the hell did that happen?), and I've only recently found you, and what a find! What a Gem! So, first, thank you so much. You may enjoy this. Prior to the advent of CDs, I owned (and still do) every one of Bob's albums. Then along came the CD. My God, how could we ever, EVER get anymore technically advanced than the CD. As you know, the surprises have never stopped coming....but not before I had spent a small fortune on every CD of Bob's. Of course, now, I cannot even begin to guess the number of platforms there are for Bob's music (but I still have all that vinyl and all those CDs). I am, indeed, one of those geeks who loved/loves school and lecture and learning, so when I stumbled onto your show...well, I can say with confidence, that I was giddy! Thank you so much. As my sons would tell me, "That's right in your wheelhouse, Pops," and how right they are. Before I forget, I want to tell you that I'm a writer - you can either have a look at my website - www.johnlstanizzi.com There is a ton of info there about my and my work. Or. You might just type into google John L. Stanizzi, and another ton of info will arise. At this point, that's the best place to start finding out things about me, because you are so generous with the info you share. What shall I call you? Calico? Anyway, thanks for the show. It's just fabulous in every way. Big thanks. By the way, "Desolation Row" is among my top favorites of Bobs. Bless. -Johnnie

Your review on Dylan`s "Jokerman" enticed me to revisit the movie "Oh God", starring George Burns and John Denver. How greedy, dishonest people use religion to take money out of your pocket and fill their pockets. That`s just one of many things you hit upon in this well made video. If I were teaching a religion class, I would start by having my students listen to Jokerman first, and this video after hearing all their personal slant on the song.
