I don't live too far from the condo in which Layne lived and died in Seattle. My buddy used to work in a coffee shop nearby, Layne would very occasionally come in and grab a coffee. His nickname for my buddy was Tor Tor. He was looking rough, had lost almost all of his teeth. He died about a year later, pretty much a total recluse. He had been using heroin for years but also had a large crack cocaine habit. His mother created a fund in his name for a rehabilitation center in the Seattle suburb of Kirkland which is where Layne grew-up.

These are two majorly famous music artists. Love this video and song. Bing Crosby was an actor, singer and soft shoe dancer for many decades in America. From the 30s to the seventies when he passed.

Bing Crosby was a hugely popular singer and Academy Award winning actor from the 1920s to the 1970s. He died shortly after this Christmas Show was recorded.

Imagine being in high school when this song came out and dancing to it at your Senior Prom. I'm not sure what kind of crap music high school students use for prom music after the year 2000.

Its OK to cry. sometimes a song can hit you on a deep level when you dont expect it. It helps that its one of the greatest songs of all time.

This is from a Christmas TV special. I saw it live when I was a child. It still makes me cry when I hear it-the purity of their voices and the earnestness of the message. Bing Crosby was a well-known singer and actor from the mid-1900s. You would recognize his voice in the song, “White Christmas.”

FYI: The three tracks in this video were studio versions synchronized with various footage, which gives the impression the performances were live, but in fact the music is not (well it was technically "live" in the studios in that era if you wanted to argue that, lol - but they aren't "concert" performances). The audience sounds were then added to the studio tracks. I have a suspicion a lot (if not all) of the footage was drawn from "A Hard Day's Night" film, as we see Wilfrid Brambell with the handcuffs on in the audience around 6:48 , who played the role of Paul McCartney's grandfather in "A Hard Day's Night".

My wife is from Nigeria. I go back every 6 months to see her. And are soon to be one year old son. I love Africa. That's one place i don't have to turn my head to make sure im ok. It breaks my heart. every time I have to come back to the U. S. Not because my wife and son. because of the peacefulness. that is there. The hard workers. And what little bit they have. They will offer it to you.

Shes from Limerick in the Republic of Ireland and the song was written about the deaths of two young English boys, Tim Parry aged 12 and Johnathan Ball aged 3, after an IRA (Irish Republican Army) bomb went off outside a McDonalds in Warrington UK in 1993. Even though shes Irish she was so upset that children were the victims of the war and that its still going on and on. "Its not my family" so society just continues like Zombies in a never ending cycle of war and death. Thank God for the Northern Ireland Peace agreement that has since been agreed to end the war. Peace to all nationalities in Northern Ireland, and may Tim Parry and Johnathan Ball rest in peace forever.

@Shockwave- So this was another cover by Elvis. Nobody sings this one as good as Elvis though. Frank Sinatra did this one as well. Believe it or not Elvis put out over 700 songs and he never wrote one. He could sing and entertain better than anyone but the only thing he couldnt do was write songs.
@carolhayar30376 күн бұрын
BACKGROUND INFO: The original French song is entitled "Comme d'habitude" composed by Jacques Revaux, Gilles Thibaut & Claude François. The English version (My Way), was re-written by Paul Anka for Frank Sinatra. Anka changed the lyrics & altered the melodic structure slightly, & the original French version has nothing to do w-Anka's re-written English version. The translation of "Comme d'habitude" literally means "as per usual" -- about something that happens regularly or that isn't surprising. The video of the original French version by Claude Francois w-English subtitles is on the internet . Sinatra's daughter Nancy said that Sinatra did not like the song to the point of hating it. Sinatra said it was "self-serving" but performed it many times anyway. The difference between Sinatra & Elvis is the emotion & passion that Elvis put into the song -- as he did w-every song he sang.
