I imagine this long process was to prime the motor and bring it into phase from a cold start. When it was operating this process would not be happening?

Even if it was warmed up and running at full pressure, you definitely couldn't just throw it straight into reverse like they did in the titanic film ❤

Could not understand any of the dialogue because of the noise. It might help if you invest $35 in a set of wireless lapel microphones.

I wonder how small the runout of the flywheels are. Even with the smooth handcam it looks incredibly accurate.

That's a sexy, Victorian Goth there. Belief systems don't build these behemoths... precise measurement does.🎉. If this where Frizt Lang gets the idea for the film 'Metropolis'?

@@officerdonut7066 Fact. Saw one of the traction motors from the Lyriq or whatever a couple of years ago.....rated at 600 hp. These are not your big old induction motors for 60 hz. They use high freq multi phase power which cuts the need for the big iron

Very impressive! Built in a bygone era when humans actually took pride in what we could accomplish. Even the building that houses it could almost be considered to be a work of art. Not like today when everything is taken for granted and mostly overlooked by selfish people who are too busy to notice anything beyond their own needs.
