BBB = better base building. It includes prefab walls, more building options, etc VS vanilla building, which is slow and tedious and limited ish.

Modded is the way to go, and if you just want to play it as a chill survival game without having to worry about other players, jump in a pve server, vanilla+ is best as it isn't over the top modded but has some quality of life improvements. But yeah majority of the time you'll either die instantly or kill someone else, just how it is, just gotta play smart and think about where people would be.
