Actually this video was sent to me by a Leipzig resident who follows the Nelu and Stefan videos here on my channel. They often play together but also sometimes individually. I would love to return to Leipzig to hear more of their live playing (and visit the churches again that J.S. Bach worked at)

Fascinating! In 2011 I took a trip across Europe, I come from New Zealand. I also came to Leipzig for a few days and was totally fascinated by the musical spirit of this city! I enjoy listening to Bach and Mendelsohn! What I particularly remember is that accordion music was playing on EVERY street corner. Leipzig really has a lot of great accordion players who can play very well. I listened to them for many hours, there were so many musicians! I think it's an extended musical family... How nice that there is now a video of these two.

So glad you enjoyed it! Yes, I did an interview with them (video here on my channel) and they said that back then (2011) there were many accordion players on the streets of Leipzig. When I visited in October 2022 it was only them (Nelu and Stefan) and a few other non-accordion street musicians. I've been listening to all 4 of Stefan and Nelu's videos on an endless loop for weeks and I can't get enough of them! I just wish there was more of the great music online! It's such a shame I didn't record anything myself, I was so fascinated that I didn't even think of the idea, not to mention I don't have a good microphone. Do you know where I could possibly get more music from the two of them? I'm in the US right now and there are no good accordion players here. Either I'm going to Leipzig or Romania next, because I HAVE to hear this music again! There were so many great pieces there. Are there any recordings that you might have on another camera and forgot to upload? Outtakes? I would really be interested in that, I want to know everything about them and hear their music! Why didn't I think to ask them more questions and record their music? Can you possibly answer the following question for me about Nelu and Stefan: How many songs can they play and how do they know them? The repertoire of the two seemed endless and included melodies from all over the world. I would also be interested to know whether they can read music or not.

I can only confirm that! Of course it's a shame that the two of them weren't interested. Do you know why they rejected the offer? Because that would have been their big chance to become famous. I would love to know how big the repertoire is!
