I only have real experience in the industry as a technician and general mechanical support... But I can confidently say: If you are part of something that is or will be successful in racing; there is no off season, there is no end to development and refinement on any car or driver or team. Nothing is ever complete or finished or perfect. There is always room to improve. Driver or car. Time not used is wasted. You can't always be that hard on every aspect of it. But that is the reality of what makes the difference over a season no matter what you race.

Your discussion on goals really kinda opened my eyes... I get in my car to set a lap and then analyze the data, would really help myself to get in my car with an attainable goal, example 'Increase apex speed in turn 5'; setting attainable goals would really improve my days. Keep it up guys.

Maybe you guys can help me with selection of a kids karting helmet. My son is 8 and we are getting into karting. I want to get a helmet that will last for a while. (He has younger brothers that I'm hoping can use it when the oldest grows out of it, assuming there are no incidents) there are very few youth specific helmets and am afraid to get a small non youth specific helmet because I'm assuming it will be too heavy. Any suggestions?
