"But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, though you are small among the clans of Judah, out of you will come for me one who will be ruler over Israel, whose origins are from of old, from ancient times. " (Micah 5:2) Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign: The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel. (Isaiah 7:14) And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. But the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord. This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger." Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying, "Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to men on whom his favor rests." (Luke 2:10~14) For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the increase of his government and peace there will be no end. He will reign on David's throne and over his kingdom, establishing and upholding it with justice and righteousness from that time on and forever. The zeal of the LORD Almighty will accomplish this. (Isaiah9:6-7) This is what the LORD says: "In the time of my favor I will answer you, and in the day of salvation I will help you; I will keep you and will make you to be a covenant for the people, to restore the land and to reassign its desolate inheritances (Isaiah 49:8) "I, the LORD, have called you in righteousness; I will take hold of your hand. I will keep you and will make you to be a covenant for the people and a light for the Gentiles, to open eyes that are blind, to free captives from prison and to release from the dungeon those who sit in darkness. "The days are coming," declares the LORD, "when I will raise up to David a righteous Branch, a King who will reign wisely and do what is just and right in the land. (Jeremiah 23:5) I will also make you a light for the Gentiles, that you may bring my salvation to the ends of the earth. (Isaiah 49:6) He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. (John 1:2~3) The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth (John 1:14) This is how the birth of Jesus Christ came about: His mother Mary was pledged to be married to Joseph, but before they came together, she was found to be with child through the Holy Spirit. (Mattew 1:18) Because Joseph her husband was a righteous man and did not want to expose her to public disgrace, he had in mind to divorce her quietly. But after he had considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, "Joseph son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, because what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit. (Mattew 1:19~20) She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins. (Mattew 1:21) All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had said through the prophet: "The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel"--which means, "God with us." (Mattew 1:22~23) "Here is my servant, whom I uphold, my chosen one in whom I delight; I will put my Spirit on him and he will bring justice to the nations. He will not shout or cry out, or raise his voice in the streets. A bruised reed he will not break, and a smoldering wick he will not snuff out. In faithfulness he will bring forth justice; he will not falter or be discouraged till he establishes justice on earth. In his law the islands will put their hope." (Isaiah 42:1-4) The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is on me, because the LORD has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners, to proclaim the year of the LORD's favor and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn (Isaiah 61:1-2) In that day the Root of Jesse will stand as a banner for the peoples; the nations will rally to him, and his place of rest will be glorious. (Philippians 2:8) Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. (Philippians 2:9-11)

The true light that gives light to every man was coming into the world. (John 1:9) The people walking in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of the shadow of death a light has dawned. (Isaiah 9:2) As it is written: "There is no one righteous, not even one; " (Romans 3:10) for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, (Romans 3:23) Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all men, because all sinned. (Romans 5:12) For the Son of Man came to seek and to save what was lost. (Luke 19:10) Jesus answered them, "It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance." (luke 5:31~32) For he himself is our peace, who has made the two one and has destroyed the barrier, the dividing wall of hostility, (Ephesians 2:14) For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. (John 3:16) For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. (John 3:17) This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. (1 John 4:10) This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. (1 John 4:9) For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith--and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God-- (Ephesians 2:8) But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far away have been brought near through the blood of Christ. (Ephesians 2:13) Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come! (2 Corinthians 5:17) and are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus. (Roman 3:24) Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit of life set me free from the law of sin and death. (Romans 8:1~2) "I tell you the truth, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be condemned; he has crossed over from death to life." Jesus answered, "A person who has had a bath needs only to wash his feet; his whole body is clean. And you are clean, though not every one of you." (John 5:24) "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest." (Mattew 11:28) "Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me. In my Father's house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. (John 14:1~2) They replied, "Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved--you and your household." (Acts 16:31) Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God. (John 1:12) for, "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved." (Romans 10:13) That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. (Romans 10:9) For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. (Romans 10:10) "Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. (Mattew 7:7) For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened. (Mattew 7:8) Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies; and whoever lives and believes in me will never die. Do you believe this?" (John 11;25~26) In the same way, I tell you, there is rejoicing in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents."(Luke 15:10)

This was a ridiculous ‘sermon’. How could he have been allowed to deliver this message at a church that claims to be Bible-believing! “Where the Word is not preached and heard, there is no church”

This was a very weird sermon, not in a good way. It is not because of the topic or that it is different from the usual sermons that is preached at bbtc. The verse this was based on, so much could have been said, but in the end nothing from the sharing linked or made sense. it was so incoherent, what was shared did not link up to any point that was being made. There was no clear message but just seems like he was reading from his book and just seems to promote what his book and what he does. Walked away from the service not knowing what was he driving as the main point of the message.
