I know the video is old but let's put this straight: I'm 43 years old, played counter strike (all versions) professionally. played league of legends , StarCraft, etc etc etc(league is a fking cancer game, unbalanced as fuck) and I'm starting with dota 2. Man all I can see in the comment section is honestly butt hurt dota2 players hating so much of the success of the other. Like some of the person here in the video you cant said what is the best cuz they both have they pros and cons (Im play both btw). Dota2 have some many things and mechanics (more than LoL have) you need to mind about that it is somehow like a pseudo RTS(hence cuz it originated in wc3 as custom map). On the other hand LoL cut down some of those mechanics (cuz it based original dota) and make it easy to play . . . Now we go to the high elo or competitive part of it. Definitely dota2 have the mechanics of the 2 but LoL have the impact at executions. The amount of reflex prowess needed in LoL brought up by minimizing the CC time, skill range, higher turret dmg etc. You want example? Imagine Master yi having time lock instead wuju style for 3rd skill or jax with bkb? And dont even tell about the "but the tick rate rotation rate is much harder in dota2, guys come on it is just a homage for dota1 and it just borrowing the wc3 technology that time(I give it a nostalgia vibes tho). So in the end they both have their own advantages with one another.

Saying that League has more current players, viewers and fans is true, but of course they would have that since the game is easier to learn and get into. It's like saying, oh this mobile game has 100 million current players whilst this (complex masterpiece) game has 10 million, just because it's not as popular doesn't mean it's not great, people settle for garbage and instant serotonin boosts, is what I'm trying to say.

It's just so incredible. Like how do you train to be a complete outsider host at an event for gamers in 2013? Probably more than half the players don't really speak your language and very few have spent significant time talking to women. I mean talk about getting thrown to the wolves, and still she came out very well appreciated by the community (a very inhospitable community even compared to other esports btw). It just has to take so much charisma, fortitude, and flexibility to have accomplished what she has accomplished at TI.

DotA is more mechanically wise than league. I both played these games, Hit Challenger on league last 2017, and last 2020, i hit immo on DotA, so by playing i get to experience both of the games on how hard it is. DotA is hard as hell, it's like playing Chess, it requires a lot of skill to play it, because in DotA, once you grasp the whole mechanics of it, you're good to go, like just basic pulling the creeps, cutting the waves and pulling it to your pos 1, stacking 3 camps at the same time, going for smoke and kill, crucial wards placement both sentry and observer, item timings and more. It's more mentally challenging because you need to think further of what your enemy is going to do if you do this, if you screw this up, and more. I have this friend who mainly plays league, she said she would crush it; first picked CM, she got 0-26, and after the game i asked her on how is her welcome game in league, she said it is scary as hell and it is way more hard than league itself (ps. This league player is Diamond up) League of legends, the mechanics are easy, you don't need to worry about item timings and more, you can't cut waves and drag it to your carry because these minions have only one path. Hitting Challenger on league is a big achievement for me, but it still doesn't convince me that the game itself is mechanically harder than DotA, like Doublelift have said that "League is mechanically harder than DotA" i completely disagree, do you know how hard it is to land a Sunstrike? Even pro players can't land it properly, even Earthbind of Meepo, Mirana's arrow, Lina's stun timing, Earth Spirit's Boulder Smash and Roll, Mars's Venn diagram combo. League has much easier skillshots to land, all of it are easy to land, it's not even convincingly hard. Sorry but I'm gonna give the win to DotA because I'm way more interested on a game that'll make me think and use 100% of my brain capacity and having a headache after playing it.

I would say, just like driving. I first learned a MANUAL car which is very difficult to learn with, but once you'll get use to it, it's a very fun experience like shifting gears, your foot on the gas and also the clutch, a lot of things flow in to your head. While, in an automatic cars after I learned manual its fucking easy to drive, smooth you're not concerned on the clutch and shifting the gear too early all in all, it's fun and easy. while if you're a total beginner and u'll try automatic cars first, manual cars is a nightmare for you to learn. So for me, using the MANUAL VS AUTOMATIC analogy, a lot of things you can consider and very very subjective. Dota vs LoL? it depends on you on what do you prefer. I prefer fun and complex, in my opinion I love DOTA better.
