Love the video. Thanks! Didn't you have to replace the outer foam on the gasket? Mine is super deteriorated. This part didn't come with the kit and I'm wondering if I can make it myself with some foam and an exacto knife. Any advice would be appreciated?

You could purchase the pump with built in pressure switch and avoid running wires all the way to the faucet. Also, you can run the water hose along the wire harness where it enters the door (plenty of room there), but make sure you don't make any connections near by to avoid water leaking on the harness. You made a good attempt, but it seems esthetics is not your domain... as long as it works for you it is fine.

Thanks! The kit I bought said nothing about removing the gasket cover. I didn't even realize it came off, because the screws are hidden behind the foam

Very nice. But why do you need an electric faucet when you have a pump. Today I have a garden hose, not the cleanest setup, but working.

Is your subwoofer in similar shape? I know that for a number of years, the GX470 and Land Cruiser shared similar subwoofer enclosures, with the Mark Levinson subwoofer having a single high impedance coil (for a higher voltage amplifier) and the JBL one having dual low impedance coils (for lower voltage amplifier), but both had the same 6-1/2" diameter frame.

Hey there, I'm wondering if I can easily add an auxiliary input to where the dvd player is hooked up. What year is yours? My stock gx radio doesn't have ML system but I just finished up upgrading all 6 door speakers with Infinity Reference series and it sounds awesome! Now I just looking for a way to plug in phone for HiFi listening

Advice needed please. I am a newbie with solar and these portable power stations. We are doing a two month long camping trip using a van where we will be basically living out of it without ever using any kind of shore power. We live in Idaho and will be traveling into the backcountry of BC, Canada on this trip. I bought a 12V portable fridge and a Acopower 100W 12V monocrystalline solar panel. I only have room on the roof for one 100W solar panel because I have 2 cargo boxes. Just ordered a EB55. We drive a lot, at least a little bit each day. We don’t plan on using the battery for anything other than the fridge, as we have a generator for powering everything else. Any help would really be helpful. This newbie would really appreciate any ideas/input!

Cool sounds like fun. I believe the eb55 is around 500wh of capacity. Use the graph to figure out what you expect to be your average power usage for fridge based on you average temperature difference. Take that number and divide 500wh by the average power say 14 wh to get how many hours to run. If you don't want to run out of power, you will need to recharge at least as much as you use each day. A 100 watt solar panel will give you 100 watts in perfect extreme sun at the right angle. You should expect much less for cloudy or shady conditions. The other thing to consider for charging the eb55 is it will likely not charge as fast running off the car battery while running vs wall charging. Watch the display when you are charging from the car to verify how much. Finally biggest piece of advice. Run the fridge off the power pack dc outlet. You will get a lot more running dc. The ac inverter can waste 30-40% of the battery capacity vs the dc.

Great video! Really useful! Just a question (It's hard use your graph on a pc monitor): If my temperature delta is 36F I have around 7 watt/hour on the graph, and 7watt*24 hour is 168watt in a day (14 Ampere). Is it correct? Many thanks!
@thegxdad2223
@thegxdad2223 2 жыл бұрын
You are correct. It is 168 watt hrs. Dividing by 12v gives 14 Amp hrs. Just be careful on comparing these Amp hours to battery Amp hour ratings because they are not exactly the same.

@@thegxdad2223 Thank you for your answer! But sorry, I forgot another question: can you confirm what the graph says, is a consumption of only 7 watts a credible figure? it seems so little to me
@thegxdad2223
@thegxdad2223 2 жыл бұрын
According to the regression I think 7 is what it shows. That being said the lowest temperature delta in the test was 50 degrees with an average power consumption of 11 wh.

I just commented on your DVD remote video and realized I used this video as a guide to repair my ML speakers on my 2006 RX400h. I used rubbing alcohol and lacquer thinner to remove the old gunk, with the latter being the more effective solvent. It came out a bit ugly due to excess glue application. It sounds amazing now! I had to lower the bass back to zero in the audio settings, as I was attempting to compensate for the damaged speakers. The repair has held up fine in the months since, even through some heavy testing. Thanks for taking the time to share your endeavors!

I have a 2006 RX400h that has physical controls at the rear, so most of the DVD functions are accessible from the rear. I discovered the basic equivalent to your method a while back, and it is handy. You've inspired me to make a similar video. I'm currently looking into compatible cheap aftermarket remotes and even trying an old Android phone with an IR blaster and remote control app. I mainly want to be able to pause at any time. Also, there are cheap IR wireless headphones that work as replacements for the expensive Lexus ones if your car supports them.

Turns out they changed the glue formula and amount on 07 and newerGX ... this was absolutely not worth it to me. even valuing your time at a mere 30$/hr its way more cost effective to replace the speakers.

Thanks for the video on this I was just looking over this product, I think the AC inverter does not use power, It Discipates power through heat transfer. If it would not Heat up you wouldn't have a power loss. Either way it sucks losing that much watt hours

This looks like the Bluetti AC50S which is on sale right now for $299. I like it, but the newest small Bluetti - EB3A has some better features although lower run time, and is only $299 usually and I saw a sale yesterday making it $239! Has a more accurate display (not the battery bars in 20% increments) and faster charging, both of which I prefer.

you mentioned a spike at 80watts, is that when the compressor starts up? 80W at 12.6v is 6.4 amps, I don't understand the 15amp fuse, isn't it a bit overkill? thanks.
