Your marvellous tacking angle is due to a strong pushing current. Without current it would be around 45 degree😮

Lovely boat, i can't believe it has not been built everywhere, you could try design a sailboat that can be built from pallets and pallet wood as main structure, that boat would be priceless

That's one beautiful boat. I love the shape of the hull, and you've done a super job building her. Is that a 'snap-on' hatch cover? I didn't see it in any of the build videos I watched. But 12 to 15 knots of wind? There'll be scattered whitecaps at 7-10, and frequent whitecaps at 11-16. By the Beaufort Scale I'd say you've got 6-8. I wish we had the cruising possibilities you've got back there. Our coast isn't conducive to small boat cruising. It's all rocky lee shore with few friendly harbors.

The more i see videos about that little boat, the more i wish you would design a bit longer version about 17-18ft for tall guys like me. Is the boat selfrightening if capsized? Or has one to step on the centerbord to get it upright again?
@BedardMarine2 жыл бұрын
Self-Righting to 100° with the centerboard down

@@BedardMarine Thank you. So with a bit of foam flotation in the masttips it should be a safe boat even in a worse case…

Can water come in the boat if you capsize and the lid at the stern fails?
@BedardMarine2 жыл бұрын
No: at 90° of heel laying sideways in the water, cabin companionway, entire cockpit and transom oar door are above the waterline. This means recovery is 100% dry; I've actually tried it (not on purpose!) in the Everglades Challenge 2018 race. There is a picture on my website that shows the waterline of the boat at 90° of heel

@@BedardMarine Very nice. Could it be extended in Length to about 17-18 feet? So that a 200cm person could sleep more comfortably?

is it true that flowing epoxy resin will not bond with epoxy that has already cured? how does this affect the process?
@jeanfrancoisbedard22793 жыл бұрын
it will bond mechanically, but not chemically. Epoxy is an excellent adhesive so there is no worries

Bedard Yacht Design LLC can this pram handle more choppy water shown in this video? I dont pretend that can handle a strorm , but whats the wind speed limit that can handle? I would like to build one from a kit but i’m worried about slighty more choppy sea as shown in this video.
