The purpose of the conference was to share recent studies in the cognitive and neurosciences that indicate how humanities education can develop key cognitive and emotional capabilities (such as empathy, mind reading, metacognition, bias correction, etc) that are essential not only for personal well being but also for responsible citizenship and social justice.
