Of all the nice looking cameras that I have tested (Fujifilm X Pro 2, 3, X100V, Olympus Pen-F, Leica Q3, and Nikon Zf, Zfc), the Zf is definitely the best. Reasonable AF, versatile screen, good burst rate, battery life, good manual focusing aids, good IBIS. Biggest downside is the ergonomics, but the other nice looking cameras are all bad in this regard. Zfc has a cheap feel but I would definitely choose it as the 2nd runner up if my priority is actually taking photos.

You don’t have the latest firmware updated, and that’s ashame. About being slow, try once to transfer Nikon images to your phone, and then try the Leica app, which is blazing fast. You can’t compare Leica and Nikon. That’s a misunderstanding of what a Leica is and if we are being honest, how to use it. The image quality is unmatched to any other camera, but you really need to learn this camera. I don’t think you took the time to master it, and that’s on you. That’s not to say the Leica q3 doesn’t have flaws, as it sure does (Auto focus in video, for example, and no mic, even though they promised), but you really need to learn your camera

Hi, nice video and very honest, I can prove because I own both Zf and Q3. Hopefully firmware updates could speed things up. By the way regarding the EVF blurry while focusing, try not to use AFC or iAF, because these 2 will causes the EVF looks a bit blurry and also using iAF with Tracking will causes your exposure to become darker than it should while half pressing the shutter. Hopefully these will be mitigated in the future updates, but as a previous Q2 owner and also currently owning M240, M10M and M11-P, Leica has a good track record in fixing software issues and adding new features in the future, its like , you paid premium but your device will grow in the future, first my Q2 having some freezing issue but after that it had gotten better and better and received new features such as Face Recognition. Glad that you brought these little quirks out, hopefully Leica can do better and aware of these quirks.

Well for a street camera it has some major flaws IMO like the size of the lenses (except for 40mm f/2)... I like to use 35, 50 and 85mm while shooting street and those lenses are just too big IMO. @@wespellum You're absolutely right, the quality is great, as it is for most of the recent cameras. Manual lenses are a great option, but for my style, I rather use low apertures, and it might be problematic. The biggest flaw for me is the screen. I often shoot from the hip, or simply looking down at my screen, so people won't pay attention. I hate this type of screen also on my r5.... but I use it for my work purposes, where I tend to use EVF .. so I can live with that ... although still I would pay extra for a tilt screen version if it was an option. Xt3 with a Fujinon 56mm 1.2 is still quite small ... ZF paired with an 85 or 50 is just too big and heavy... nobody pays attention when I walk the street with my Fuji setup.... but when I take out my r5 or 5d, I can see people looking at my camera all the time ;/ I'll wait for a Xpro4 .... there is also something about processing bw RAWs from Fuji .. they look sooo good after minor tweaks ... but maybe it's just me.

The thought of shooting film now, for me is ... I was going to say frightening but that's too dramatic, its mmmm yeah its frightening when I consider the cost of a roll and developing. Your video though did stir something in me though from way back and that's shooting gorgeous black & white film. I was a bit obsessed back in the mid 90's and burnt through a lot of money purchasing Ilford XP2. It came in box with a return for the development and I think back then I was paying £14 ($18) for 36 exposure. Of course I couldn't see what I was shooting but we knew nothing of that back then, no digital of course. So I'd shoot the 36 send it off in the post, wait several days and then get 36 mid tone grey crap photos. My parents photos taken in the 60s are stunning, contrast, tones, dynamic range its all there and these are people who used the cheapest camera gear and inadvertently crop heads off. A photographer told me it was because back then the paper had more silver content and the development was all black & white focused, all the kit and experience was all monochrome. I found my old Nikon F70 recently so perhaps I'll try again now that I have far more experience, I probably won't though and will fake it all in Lightroom.... like you said though that's completely missing the whole point of shooting with film and the joy it gives....with the bitter disappointment too in my case. Love your vids and delivery. Don't stop going off on a tangent and keep hitting those high notes.

Appreciate the s/o. Enjoy the Q3! Checkout the Smallrig hand grip, I like it better than the Leica version.

I actually don’t like the external grip. I find it it ads bulk to it
