The pre-sound or pre-echo is transfer on the tape laying directly on top of tape and the transfered data that bleeds through is caused by storing the film or tape tails out. The best way to store is tails in so the bleed through is post or after not pre or before. In empty spots you hear it bleed through.

Oh, my, they're actually smoking cigarettes!! How dare they show this on television? You might actually think it was normal to do that; that people smoked all the time! Next thing you know the actors might be seen hawking cigarettes in commercials!

It brings tears to my eyes, when I think of officers dying, and leaving behind young families. All because of criminals.

I love all iterations of Dragnet, but the 50’s version is far superior to the series from the 60’s. Webb and Alexander made a great team.

Older than me. I remember the color version when I was young .. but not this version. It’s like a time capsule… the cars the people the landscape and buildings … gone forever, but preserved better than the pyramids.

Monotone cue card readers. You'd get more excitement reading your own police blotter. This would have put me to sleep.

I remember when Jack Webb died the LAPD gave him a policeman's funeral as if he had been in the the head of the police department and that was because he in his portrayal of Sergeant Friday gave people something that they didn't have when it came to the police, his show and he especially did their research he literally portrayed a police officer the way you're supposed to be. It's funny it's one of the few memories that I can still see as if it happened only yesterday while things that happen within the last 20 plus years I don't remember pretty much in some cases at all and that has to do with the blow to the head that I took. I can still see the police chips unit on either side of the hearse the motorcade I mean he might as well have been the president with the kind of motorcade they gave him, and yet dragnet had been finished a long long time before... I guess the police have a very long memory.

This show showed what no other show after it ever did it showed the cost that many policemen suffered unlike many of the other cop shows of the time. What it doesn't show is how the effect of this man's passing would be on his wife and other family members.

A real true classic have some the black and white episodes on dvd never seen the entire black and white series on dvd have some of them I got from a private collector but have 2 seasons so far on the later dragnet series better than this garbage that’s out today and I’m only 57 years old

A brilliant man Jack Webb smoked three packs of cigarettes a day and gave himself a heart attack, those people were so ignorant back then, my dad died from those stupid cigarettes too. Just think of how many times they had commercials and lit up a cigarette during the show that they got other people hooked to that evil product.
