It's not the banjo it's the player. He could play a tin can with a string or two and make a good sound.

That sounds really great,especially this Dminor part.I will ask somebody to accompany me on guitar,and do this one too! I will try it on the banjer!It is truly one of the finest reels. The mandolin gives a more classic,troubadour or minstrell-like sound,but perhaps the banjer gives a more direct and rhytmical structure if you like,ornamented with nice triplets,and maybe it allows to play a bit faster then the mandolin.. Nice duo the 2 of you!
