The Pointer Sisters were R&B, but did Country well. Check out "Fairytale". KT was country, but sang with a lot of soul. Check out "This Woman".

Miss Anita did an amazing job on singing that ‘80’s song. Love the Pointer Sisters. They should have had more recognition than they got back then. I still listen to their music 🎶.👏❤️🥰

June was a natural at dance too. Look at how smooth her moves are. The similarities between her and Michael Jackson are many (including, unfortunately, dying in one's early 50s).

I though this was a fantastic performance! It's just amazing how consistent their live performances were. There are many other artists who struggle to sound this good in the studios. They nailed this live and in the rain! True professionals!

The Pointer Sisters could have sung the phone book and made it transcendent. But this track is a turd, and the record company should be shamed for selecting it as a single. There were such better recordings on the Hot Together album that could have been earworm smashes ("Taste", "Set Me Free" for starters). kzbin.info/www/bejne/n5_Xq4GQZ82tidksi=ty7oVL208qXLPQRD & kzbin.info/www/bejne/enLMqmiqidp1iLssi=PnZ_IIf1KdiO6vno

Nah, the whole album was a turd except for "Goldmine." Nothing from it was going to be a hit.

Ruth: "Where the hell Anita go?" Just over 3 minutes later, Anita took total ownership of "80's Ladies", a wonderful song by the late K.T. Oslin. It was hard to find this cover, but the impression it had made on me years ago never totally faded. R.I.P. June, Bonnie and Anita, but Ruth, carry on with all the many good memories made during your time as one of the truly talented "Pointer Sisters"! 🤩

I've been searching for this cover for months having forgotten the song title and was not even certain any longer that the Pointer Sisters had done it. Much thanks today to a reddit forum member for identifying this song for me, "Eighties Ladies" by KT Oslin. Then a quick google search of it with the Pointer Sisters, and suddenly here I am reunited with a song that struck hard at my old, old memory, but leaving only vague impressions to hunt it down with.
