If you need rear tailing arm bushings and you also plan to keep the vehicle for a while (low miles, no rust, etc.) do yourself a favor and get the poly bushings. I've found that the bushings in both the front a-arms and all the rear ones that are parts store replacements rarely last more than two or three years. The only issue is, removing the old bushings is a PITA. There are multiple ways to do this, and I'm really not sure which is the safest as far as preserving the structural integrity of the ctl. arms. The first and probably easiest is to set the tailing arm(s) in your fire pit in front of a butane torch flame for a while until the rubber burns away and the outer metal ring will just fall out. Not sure how much heat the control arms can take or if that will weaken them, but I wouldn't let them get glowing red and once the rubber starts to burn away it should keep burning and fall out pretty quickly without more heat applied. The second is to remove the center of the bushing and cut through the rubber (or around it so it can be removed which helps) and into the outer metal race being VERY careful not to go too far and compromise your ctl. arm. Then use an old chisel or screwdriver to hammer in and peel it out starting where you scored it.

I had a question. When I decelerated my rear end wobbies from left to right could it be the control arms.I have a 2001 qx4. So far what what was replaced is the front and rear struts.

Why are clutch fans needed?
@rayraymartinez7111
@rayraymartinez7111 Жыл бұрын
Clutch fans are needed because it cools the engine down so your engine won’t overheat and if you have a bad clutch fan you should replace it as so as possible to prevent engine damage

clutch will lock up if valve open cause of heat spring,, and will more relatively freely from shaft if valve close cause not enough heat to turn the bimetal spring in front of clutch.. If use directly blade to shaft it will make high noise from fan and make more load to the engine.. Then,, if use the electric fan it lower durability other than viscous clutch fan..

Ur advertising the wrong thing,,, DELETE UR VIDEO BUDDY, the fan clutch is supposed to lock up when going at extreme rpms not by hand, bu hand it only loosens because there is not heat, with heat on the spring it will lock up, go ahead and put fire on the spring in front and watch the clutch lock up,, u guys make people go buy parts that they dont need, ur fan clutch is fine, if u spin it when its cold and it doesnt spin the first few times than its a good fan clutch

heat on the spring it will not make the clutch lock up directly,,, heat on the spring just make the valve inside open and the oil will make fast circulation and lock up the blade+shaft...

@@holaomar7466 With all due respect, I wonder, so you agreed on this but still 1 year after the video is still posted? Non electrical fan clutch has the highest inner drag at the hottest tempetature. When it is cool it is suposed to spin in less synchronization with the engine pulley.

I appreciate the top side removal instructions. I could use the lift at work, but of all my tools are at home. BTW...Have you watched the video for the $10 fix for these starters? The bendix is loose because of a broken ignition lever inside. Dealers and most parts stores don't carry it, but it can be purchaed online. Hyundai part is 36131-2g100-fff. Thanks again!
