Very helpful, thanks. My dog passed away yesterday from a brain trauma and this video helped me to understand better what was happening to my dog before he died.

Unfortunately most of us won't ever have an MRI scan for our pets because of the cost. Also most vets in the U.K aren't really interested in the well being of your pet, its more about how much the pet will benefit them financially and for how long they can keep the money coming in from your pet. We have changed vets 4 times in the last 10 years because of bad practices. We had a little Yorkshire terrier that was so nervous the vet diagnosis was cushings disease. We spent £450 on 4 tests and they all came back inconclusive. Yet i couldn't get the £450 back. We had another elderly Yorkshire terrier that had tumors and the vet suggested removing them at a cost of £3,600. A week after the surgery the dog collapsed and we took him back to the vet. They found another tumor on the liver that couldn't be removed and we were advised to put the dog down. We have another mix breed Chihuahua/ Yorkshire terrier that was born with Tooth dysplasia (no enamel) and a faulty heart valve. When she be was 4 we had 28 of her 42 teeth removed. Cost £3,000. At age 5 she started having seizures and was immediately diagnosed with epilepsy and she was put on the medication Epiphen. She has been on this medication for 3 years and it is affecting her liver and the seizures started to creap back up from 2 or 3 per month to 5 and 6 oer week. I started researching epilepsy myself and found out Epiphen shouldn't be given to animals with Cardiovascular or Renal health issues.😮 On top of this the vet wanted to put her on medication for her heart which I have refused. I feel 1 medication like Epiphen is more than enough for her to cope with. I have since introduced new supplements into her diet and they are making a huge difference in her health. She is now 8 years old. First I introduced Vitamin D3 + K2 (mk 7) into her diet. This combination is fantastic for her health and after 6 months some new teeth have started to come back. Unfortunately because of a genetic issue the new teeth are enamel less but they should see her through her lifespan and her quality of life is better for having the ability to chew. I then introduced a natural enzyme called CoQ10, this is normally produced by the liver and is responsible for the prevention of muscle wasting and can aid in the repair of damaged muscle, so this should benefit her heart. 1 year later she no longer coughs after a drink nor does she cough after a long walk. We also give her Milk Thistle to lesser the damage to her liver from the Epiphen medication. I introduced Taurine into her diet and the results were immediate as the seizures completely stopped for 5 weeks. Unfortunately i have learned this is a temporary fix as the epilepsy finds an alternative path. I then started adding potassium and Iodine to her diet and I was able to get another 5 weeks of being seizure free before the epilepsy found yet another path with seizures. Now I have her on Alpha GPC and we are on week 4 with no seizures and we have reduced her Epiphen dosage by 25%. I have other supplements in mind for when the seizures start again and these are B6 in the form of P-5-P and R Alpha Lipoic acid. I have kept a journel on her epilepsy recording dates, times and duration of seizures. I will never give up on helping her with this terrible affliction and I will never allow the current vet to increase the dosage of Epiphen nor would I consider heart medication. She is thriving, she has more energy and I trust my own judgement on her condition than any vet. We need to have more open discussion with vets and we need to be looking more towards natural remedies and deficiencys rather than just putting them on big pharma medications because they have so many side effects. I keep records on everything I do with my little girl and I am happy with the fact I can look back on her journel anytime. Its time we looked at our pets illnesses ourselves rather than relying on unregulated vets that just see your sick pet as an open cheque book. There are thousands of pets in the UK who don't get treatment because of the cost and insurance policies are helpful but are also open to abuse by vets who will perform unnecessary tests and treatments Purley for monetary reasons. Insurance comes at a cost, teeth are not included because this is classed as cosmetic, any long term illness treatment will be limited too because they are in it for profit not peice of mind. In my opinion, and my opinion is based on personal experiences. Thank you for reading this. All updates on my Daisy regarding her health can be found on my channel.

If your dog is having a seizure, it's important to stay calm and take the following steps: 1. Ensure Safety: Move your dog away from any dangerous objects or hazards (e.g., sharp furniture, stairs). Clear the area to prevent injury. 2. Don’t Restrain: Do not try to hold your dog down or restrain them, as this can lead to injury. Let the seizure run its course. 3. Time the Seizure: Note how long the seizure lasts. Most seizures last 1-3 minutes. If it lasts longer than 5 minutes, seek emergency veterinary care immediately. 4. Protect Their Head: Gently place a soft cushion or towel under their head to avoid head injury if possible, but don't force anything into their mouth, as this could cause harm. 5. Stay Calm and Keep Quiet: Your dog may be disoriented or frightened after the seizure. Keep a calm environment and avoid loud noises or sudden movements. 6. After the Seizure: Once the seizure ends, keep your dog in a safe, quiet space where they can recover. Offer them comfort and reassurance. They may be confused or tired, and they may need some time to fully recover. 7. Monitor: After the seizure, observe your dog closely. If they have another seizure soon after, or if they do not recover quickly, seek immediate veterinary attention. 8. Visit a Veterinarian: If this is your dog's first seizure, or if seizures are frequent or prolonged, take them to the vet for a full evaluation. Your vet may perform tests to determine the cause and recommend treatment options. Seizures in dogs can have various causes, including epilepsy, toxins, brain injuries, or underlying medical conditions, so it’s crucial to get a proper diagnosis. It was chat gpt

I think people need to look into Procter Gamble Air fresheners. I have heard many stories of people using this around their pets and then they get Brain cancer and others cancers Way to Young! It happened to our little dogs 3 times:( Don't use P.G. products they are Not safe for you your family and your pets. And I think they know it and don't care!

My dog is two years old and is not on any flea treatment at the moment and he has begun getting these. At least this is what a vet has told me. My guy's shaking is much more intense than this though and it's really disturbing. He's a very sensitive dog and my hypothesis is that they're being triggered by the aggression my senior dog has been exhibiting towards him ever since we had to move into a smaller space. 😢😢

Love this! Thank you so much. My dog is being treated with medication rather than surgery because of he's 14 and the surgery could be too much. Can I still try this? He seems slightly better after 2 weeks of meds, but he is very stiff and is not able to walk for more than 3 minutes.

My 3.5 year-old female Maltese terrier passed away last week and I am devastated. She was diagnosed in April with autoimmune brain inflammation and brain herniation. She took prednol for 3 months and then no medication. She was very restless in 5 November, so I decided to take her to the clinic. They gave her mannitol and corticosteroids serum and after that her symptoms got much worse. She died in two days. Could the serum trigger her death? She wasn’t that bad and in a few hours she was really bad.

I am so sorry. How is your dog doing today? Last week my dog was doing zoomies and all of a sudden on Thursday his legs appeared weaker. I brought him to the vet and they said they suspect a brain tumor. I really don’t know why they jump to brain tumor and not IVDD. He has had back issues in the past, and his symptoms appear to be the same as IVDD to me. Maybe I am just cleaning to help and they can just tell it’s a brain tumor right away. He hasn’t had a seizure or other common symptoms of brain tumor.

My 14 year old dog for years, half her life now, has had really bad skin allergies, then several years ago started having issues with her left ear and always keeps her head tilted on the left, vet has no idea what it is as her ears are always clean inside but said that there is swelling deep down in there, and none of the meds are working to help with that issue. For many years she was on prednisone, as none of the allergy meds were doing much good, problem is that she gained weight, but didn't have any more skin issues. But over time as suggested by the vet I decrease the dose and eventually took her off of it, skin problems came back, full blown scaly, red, slimy, stinky yeast, and because the issue is internal, some imbalance in her, topical treatments don't do any good. Currently she's taking ketoconazole (for the yeast issue), apoquel (for the allergies) and cephalexin (antibiotic), and her skin is still scaly but not stinky or slimy except between her back legs because of another issue that is keeping her from moving much now. She has a large bubble all down her left hind leg that showed up earlier this year and has gotten larger, cost a couple hundred just to have the vet take a sample just to say it isn't cancer but possibly a hematoma hemorrhagic cyst or something else similar, but would cost hundreds more to drain it or whatever. Several months ago her back legs were partially paralyzed, she could only walk with my help and stumbled and fell a lot, and she was so out of it and sickly that she looked like she was dying, and we took her to the vet all they seemed concerned about was telling us is that it was time to think about putting her down, said that even if we could afford scans and if she needed surgery that they wouldn't do it on her because she's too old. At the time I was thinking it was one of the meds that they gave us that caused this, and so I took her off of it, and then a couple days later she started feeling better and she started walking again, was good for a while, other than skin allergies and her persistent ear problem, and that huge bubble that is still on her leg. Also her back legs shake a lot, and same with her head when she has her head up, got me wondering if this issue with her ear is something wrong inside her head, neurological or something growing in there pushing against her brain and inner ear, and her sense of smell isn't so good either anymore, and I think she has cataracts, yep, getting old, everything falling apart. A couple weeks ago she started walking with her left rear leg going in towards the right one (which if I am not holding her left side she'd fall over) and she lays on that side all the time, will not or cannot lay on her other side, and then a few days ago it started again, suddenly she couldn't walk, but now can't even stand up. I tried to help her but problem is that her hind legs go forward when she is lifted, even when I hold or wrap something around her hind legs, her back is not straight, is curling and as such her legs are still going forward and I can't hold her but for a few moments because she is heavy limp weight and she slips down onto her butt. And now my back is hurting from trying to help her, and I know she has to go to the bathroom as it has been a long while, last time she pooped on herself outside because she couldn't stand, have no idea about pee, but she's been panting a lot this morning, trying to get up but impossible. She doesn't go inside and probably fearful that she'll get in trouble if she does. She's not a big dog (border collie mix with some other breed(s)), but 40 lbs is quite heavy when it hangs limp and her whole rear curls forward. I've been crying my eyes out off and on for days since this has gotten worse for her because I don't know how to help her. She's alert, still eating and drinking, I've put her by our sliding glass door sometimes so she'd have something else to look at other than the inside of the apartment, and she looks out, so she is still here, and I pet her and rub her ears and talk to her, and I always wonder what she is think, but I know she hasn't given up, though sometimes appears to be depressed (pretty obvious why), but she knows that I am trying to help her, even though I know she would like to be able to do everything herself. Have no way to pay the vet and they won't help without money and we've been going to them for the whole 11 years we've lived in Austin TX and they won't even set up a payment plan, as is my mom pays for their insurance every month to cut costs, but still is not enough with that all the time, food going up, rent super high and always going up every year and with new things tacked onto that, and I don't work because of various issues of my own, been years and don't even get help for that, so am home all the time, which at least is good for my dog that she is never alone. I don't have a harness for rear support nor any, so tried using a couple of my own shirts, put her hind legs through the sleeves and grabbed the whole shirt back around her back and lifted, it hurt her and she just dangled there, front legs stiff against the floor, back legs on tip-toes because she isn't able to plant them flat because her legs keep trying to curl forward, which I think is her back doing that, but I had to put her down, as it was putting too much stress on my lower back to be in this awkward position, so nothing I do is working, and it hurts her to be lifted. While I was typing this, she ended up going back to sleep, just woofed in her sleep, is the only time she does that now, been a good more than a year since she's even barked and lost interest in playing going on a year I suppose. We used to play all the time, and she used to collect lost tennis balls and had so many toys, I miss those times and feel while she is falling apart, I am too. But she just woke up, again, she is alert, looks up at me, licking her lips, probably hungry, so going to get her something to eat and try to think about how I'm going to get her outside (well, carry her) to do her business, that will be the more challenging part because even though she is crippled right now, she is still being picky about where to go, yep, with the dogs is not a matter of just going, it is about location as such will hold it until they can't just to get that ideal spot, yet she can't walk nor even stand.
