Hi, my ucat is in 11 days and I've done like 3/4 mocks so far and ive gotten 2300,2410,2600,2440 (in this order). I haven't been reflecting as much but I'll start doing that now. Do u think I have enough time to average a 2700 on my ucat or is it best to defer it? sorry, its a bit long but I noticed your beginning scores are similar to mine and just wanted to ask how long it took you to improve. Thanks

I’m in Edinburgh and I’m currently doing SWAP to medical studies at college (I’m not the traditional SWAP student I’m 19 and don’t have a gap in education but I’ve got extenuating circumstances) and as a med student at Glasgow have you come across any SWAP students? and I know you can’t speak for them but possibly making a video on their application process? ALSO I am a dispenser in a pharmacy but my course coordinator has made it clear I need some sort of experience in a hospital and shadowing a doctor how did you do it? I can’t seem to find any way of getting some experience so any pointers on how? I’ve got experience of volunteering on hospital wards during covid but because of how long ago it was it wasn’t enough. Anything else you’d recommend? I’ve just come across your platform and im so glad because there are no videos or help on how to apply for med school in Scotland and I love hearing your experience and tips on this, you’re doing amazing work and I hope semester 2 goes well for you!
@scotmed9577 Жыл бұрын
Hey! I'm not 100% about SWAP I'll be honest. I know one person applying this year with it but I'm actually not too sure what it entails. If I find out I'll reply here for you. So in terms of work experience, again I can't speak for the uni but when I applied you didn't need any specific experience. I don't think this will have changed as obviously it's been impossible to get work experience in hospitals due to COVID. I had experience in 2017 in a hospital and I mentioned it loads, so anything is great. I also worked as a pharmacy dispenser and mentioned it loads. Anything healthcare/social care/ care general related is good I think. Thanks so much for the nice comment. I'll maybe try to make some more videos over winter :)) Anything else you're unsure of just ask and maybe others can help out

I have a quick question, are the mocks on the website able to give corrections in terms of what the actual right answer was, and how representative do you think they are in comparison to the real exam, because I just did one and it felt so much harder than medify
@scotmed95772 жыл бұрын
No the official mocks don't give corrections, only a score. It's difficult to say as I did it over a year ago but I'm sure I got told mock C was most representative (although I scored 300 less a few days before my exam doing it)
