I don't use any modifier. At 20 sec, I used the Swift Loop tool to add the edges loop. Press the Alt+1

Ops, I'm sorry. I think I lost a step. follow this guide. Make a rectangle > Reduce the "Step" value to the "0" under the interpolation section. ( you can find it in the parameter rollout ) > Then Apply the Normalize Spline modifier > Put the tick to the "Show Knot" > Give the 48 to the Knot Count. You will get the same result as the video. In Autodesk Maya, there isn't a direct equivalent to the Torus Knot primitive found in 3ds Max. However, If you wanna create a similar object, you should have to use various modeling techniques.
