I love this interview of Zanardi at the end, for the pride and excitement after winning a race that way, but it's that laugh when he says "but the car kept going!" that always cracks me up. You can feel the surprise and even a little bit of guilt, because in those days his car seemed indistructible and even he couldn't explain it😂

That sound is so perfect. These exact turbo V8's, as well as the Naturally aspirated V10 and V12 engines from F1 are the most ideal machines of the motorsport universe.

Goodyear was right to ignore the flag because, as he said afterwards, had they reconsidered it, he still would have lost by pitting.

I met Mario on the starting grid at Laguna Seca, was standing next to his car just before the race he walks up and introduces himself. Graciously allows me to sit on the right front tire him standing for pictures. The nicest fellow truly one of the greatest drivers in all motor sports.

Paul Page wrote these and the producers found the images to go with his words. They were a labor of love. Page has said people come up to him and recite these Delta Force intros by heart.

The broadcast was directed by LARRY KAMM and ROGER GOODMAN. One of those two was at the helm for the white flag debacle.

I don't think it's a pass if you have to go off-track to get by your competitor. Maybe that's why "the pass" is always in quotations. 🤔

Se fosse num campeonato da FIA de hoje, teria excedido o limite da pista e teria que devolver a posição. Mas graças a Deus era 1996 e era a Cart que promovia!😂😂😂😂

I miss the CART series. As an F1 fan since 1993 and having started watching CART in 96, CART was the better product and arguably had a better depth of drivers towards the end of the century. I remember the Fontana 99 race vividly and losing Greg so young was terrible. I always think of him every 31st October. He was destined for huge success..
