You tell me, I'd be interested to hear your view on it. I am certainly not claiming to know everything about the Israel/ Palestinian issue. I have a claim to being an expert in the broader relationship between conflict and the media. My message in the recent videos on this is that a diplomatic solution, which begins with isolating Netanyahu, is preferable to Netanyahu's apparent plans to make the whole strip uninhabitable. I think this is a very mainstream and reasonable opinion that seeks stability for everyone involved.

As explained, there were a wide range of defensive and diplomatic opportunities to explore. Genocide is certainly not defensive or targeted and it’s also not even actually working even on its own terms. Any sort of diplomatic solution in Gaza will surely be even harder than in NI and no I’m not well versed in the politics of that country. I think it’s fair enough though to observe that we have to find constructive ways forward otherwise the closest there will be to a solution in Gaza is a nation of a million tents in a desert. I’m sure you don’t want that.

That is according to the front page of Haaretz, not me. Your assertion that Arab nations are refusing to engage in peace accords is fifty years out of date, if it was ever true. The Arab nations are very much *not* supporting Palestine. They signed the Abraham Accords with Trump, et al, which is probably a good thing - but of minimal relevance to what's happening in Gaza.

I appreciate that the Gaza issue was generally muted in the years up to 2023 but your allegation just isn't accurate - I have researched international conflict for over twenty years. I have done this speech not because I am suddenly caring about it, but because it happens to be my area of academic interest and expertise.
