Oh God I so don't care about being seen as confident. In fact I don't even like confident acting people of either gender. I would say I go out of my way to let people know I am not confident or competent. I want to be seen as aesthetic, confidence is a construct, not real.

my dad is in his 50s and hardly has a mature hairline and a full beard, which is weird considering his father and his father's father went bald well before then. His mother's father, however, is 104 and has a mature hairline, but still has a significant amount of his hair. Maybe he inherited my great-grandfather's good hair genetics? idk, but his half-brothers have MPB. Also, I am in my early 20s and have noticed minimal thinning in my temples. I could be cooked. I know my mom's dad went bald and his sons have MPB, but on both sides of my family, my uncles have retained more hair than my grandpa's relative when they were in their 50s. Addtionally, my mom's mom's father had all his hair too. I'm really hoping I got pretty lucky with my hair as its almost identitcal to my father's.

In my family I personally never knew a man who went bald, my granfather of my mother, still has an amazing hairline for his age and my father is a little bald on his crown but besides that he also still got good hair for his age. Now I during the pandemic, working in homeoffice I noticed that im shedding a lot of hair and it wouldnt stop over months. Looking at my hair density I eventuelly realized that I against all what I had expected would suffer from hairloss at age 21. It was an extreme mental burden for me and eventually I bit the bullet and started taking finasteride two years ago. Now when I talk to friends who also suffer from hairloss I often suggest them to try finasteride but I feel like many are just to anxious to try it because of all the rumors about permanent or sexual side effects. It is a little saddening for me to see knowing what a burden hairloss can be. Finasteride essentially makes balding optional for many man and is at least in my opionion too frowned upon.

@@jun-f2j I get this. Could you say that you’ve experienced any side effects from it?
@jun-f2j
@jun-f2j 16 күн бұрын
@domepeace Definitely, I had a lot of brainfog at first, I dealt with it by taken the pill right before sleep and softer erections. Those all went away after a couple of weeks. However the side effect I struggle the most with is insomnia. I'm assuming the small raise in testosterone caused by finasteride is at least in my case enough to interfere with my sleep quality. I basically took 1mg for a year and eventually started taking only 0.5mg and later 0.25mg. This October I really mentally and physically felt amazing, I was sleeping really well. But because I am afraid that 0.25mg won't do the trick I upped the dosage again to 0.5mg. I'm still hoping my body will eventually adjust. It's a struggle but I really appreciate the peace of mind it gives me. Obsessing over my hair loss made me less productive at other tasks. And when I look in the mirror, knowing that I get to keep my beloved hair gives me a small moment of happiness. For me it's an amazing drug.

Just run with it, bro. If you loved playing, you still should. I'm bald to, so I do get it. But as men, we can't get down over self-image. At the end of the day, I dont care what the world says, men should be hard. I dont know what you tend to see over the internet, but my feed is filled with tough bald dudes. Actually, I would say most bad ass and hyper sucessful men are bald. Although, that may be an opinion because i dont know the numbers. In reality, it means nothing. I agree with this claim due to the more pronounced contrast of the shaved scalp to the face&body for lighter skin tones. Looks a bit like raw chicken… Darker skin tones rarely experience this phenomenon. What helps too is that gold and silver contrasts darker skin tones way better. It is what it is. Lighter skin tones can have more prominent tattoos, again due to contrast. It is what it is. but yeah, all the above is subjective.

I honestly wish more guys would just embrace it. I can't speak for all people, but sometimes shaving it or growing with a mohawk is the nest course of action. Do what you need to, but just a heads up, having hair won't give you confidence. It won't cure your insecurity. It won't automatically get you what you need.
