@@TrailBikeMike I heard that the review of the DJI Avinox Drive System is very good, with DJI having a lot of experience making various BLDC motor controls from micro motor to large sizes.

A common mistake is to compare red trails with other trails. - logically, this will be different all over the UK. Instead you should consider it against the other trails, at the particular centre you’re at. The red being most likely the most difficult trail to ride there.

@@TrailBikeMike what wheel size are you running, im keen to get med frame as 5'10" but noticed spec online, mention mediums frames are a mullet on the AM Ride 2022
@TrailBikeMike
@TrailBikeMike 2 жыл бұрын
@@TheHonestlySneakyGamer I’m running 27.5” on this, but I run 29” on my Yeti. I love 29” wheels, but the Commencal was purchased to be more of a toy for pump tracks etc. so I went for 27.5”. The frame fits 29” too though (the forks would need changing). I can’t comment on mullet - it think that is a new option for 2022.

Your question is absolutely right - is it really a red? No. Not at all. In fact I'd go so far as saying grading it red is irresponsible for folks who start out their MTB journey here. I thought I was better than I actually was, leaving me ill prepared for Cannock red :D Blue with occasional red features. Don't get me wrong, it's an enjoyable trail, but it needs to make up it's mind.

Yeh, same with me. I did the kitchener trail no problem, and went to cannock chase the next weekend and went over the handlebars trying to hop over the first rockgarden on follow the dog. Luckily the rest of it was easier I thought.
@TrailBikeMike

I guess that is the issue. It makes you think all red trails are at that level, but some reds are a lot tougher.

i just rode with mine on the settings it comes with in trees while the sun was setting the shadows were just pitch black and when i went into the trees you can't see anything but at points where the sun would get through the stabilization couldn't keep up
@TrailBikeMike
@TrailBikeMike 3 жыл бұрын
My settings were initially based on recommendations by ‘The Loam Ranger’ here on KZbin, but I’ve made a few minor changes. kzbin.info/www/bejne/aIqoloOZf7-WfKs Your dark shadows issue is most likely from using the GoPro colour profile which can reduce dynamic range. Max out the ISO to improve stabilisation in darker scenes.

Thanks, I hate 24fps but maybe it's just me :-) Why do you set iso max to 6400?
@TrailBikeMike
@TrailBikeMike 3 жыл бұрын
Sometimes you ride into dark wooded areas and I’d rather maintain better stabilisation and deal with noise. It rarely happens though. I love 24fps personally. The motion blur adds to the feeling of speed.

@@donnpassMTB Mine is a custom build, so started out as a SB130 before I 'lunch rided' it. The bike is a great trail bike - really efficient and a lot faster than I thought - beating pretty much all my Strava PRs set on my Canyon Nerve. Climbing is really very good. Going lunch ride didn't seem to ruin these qualities. It doesn't feel like too much bike to me, I like the confidence the geo gives - especially as I'm getting older and lazy with line choice. It isn't lightweight at 30lb, but not too bad either, I stopped caring about weight as it doesn't really make much difference. If I had a SB150 though, I'd consider a SB100 - the SB130 seems to be a great balance between the two.
