My grandmother’s house was a colonial built around 1800. Among many unusual features it had a doorbell consisting of a crank on the outside of the door and about a 6” domed bell on the inside. The sound was more of a clank-clank-clank, maybe because of all the coats of paint put on it over the years.

My wife had an easy bake oven and she was born in October 1981

For example, easy bake ovens weren’t just in the 70s. You can’t be that stupid. They came out in the 80s. They came out in the 90s. They still come out to this day so there’s one thing you’re wrong on. Let’s see what’s next.

This is 100% not true. I grew up in the 80s with everything you’re mentioning to and I was born in 81.

I was sitting in my basement. I'd just rolled myself a taste of something green, and gold, and glorious to get me through the day. When my friend yelled through the transom "grab your coat and get your hat son! There's a nut down on the corner giving dollar bills away!"

Still burn barrels around. Used every day. Outside of larger cities that don't allow it, and California of course ....the rest of us live on. You just need to be mindful of your neighbors. Many people don't like that plastic smell. Some neighbors also don't enjoy burning leaves either. Which has also been restricted in certain areas. I will continue until I'm threatened with a ticket. Keeping trash out of a river kind of makes sense. Burning basic household trash should be allowed.

I used to shop at a store called Hinky Dinky in Omaha, Nebraska. It was a close competitor of Safeway. Although it was considered that Safeway was far more expensive than Hinky Dinky. Neither of those stores are in Omaha. I used to serve lunch in my high school cafeteria, and then after school wrap all the silverware for the next day, and for that honor in addition to the free lunch, I earned $5.50 every 2 weeks, I'd go straight to Hinky Dinky, since I passed it on my way to and from school. I would always buy a bag of oranges, a bag of cherries or grapes or both in season, and every new romance magazine, and still had almost $2.00 left after that. Sure miss those days.

The 70s had such ugly decor!! By 1978, when I was 13, my sisters and I HATED the look of shag carpets and especially fake wood paneling for walls that we had been putting up with for as long as we could remember! So one day when our mom was on an errands, I convinced my sisters to take down the paneling in our hallway with me!!! My Mom came home and loved it! Yay!!!

I remember well, F. W. Woolworths, and Kresages 5¢ n 10¢ stores, both located at opposite ends of 16th Street in downtown Omaha, Nebraska. I absolutely loved both stores, but sadly I also remember, that if I wanted to have lunch at Woolworth's, I had to stand at the end of the counter, until recognized, place my order, stand back, until I received it, then go find somewhere to eat it. The same for Union Pacific, though both my dad and grandfather both worked for the company, We traveled for free but had to sit in a separate car and couldn't eat in the dining car. Still I definitely miss those stores. And now that my family is all grown up, my husband passed on, and I am retired, I buy a season ticket that allows me to travel across the US. Only now it's Amtrak.

We were aloud to buy a double lunch or just the main course item there were a few lunches that were worth it, 😂 our grade school had the in house cafeteria and cooks/lunch ladies. Our pizza day back then was two English muffins with a really great sauce with ground beef and melted cheddar cheese, the sauce was kinda like the Chef Boy Ardee sauce as far as I can remember? And let me tell you folks, when you're a growing boy in many sports and activities that was like the devil bribing you to hell. 😆🤣😂 Jesus, I really miss the 60s and 70s. We had the best toys and bikes and fresh air and some freedom!!!

Street Sharks was one of my favorite shows in the 90s! I had a Ripster action figure that when you pulled the fin back his mouth opened. I think it could be brought back and possibly put against TMNT in a crossover.

I'm a boomer. Things are the way they are now because in the 1960's, all of this crap was allowed, then it blew up in our faces and circled around and bit us in the ass. This includes, smoking, polluting, littering, dangerous toys like pick up sticks, creepy crawler, chemistry sets and easy bake oven, sexual and physical abuse from Priests and Boy Scout leaders or the neighborhood dad that no one talked about, Jim Crow laws, women's rights movement, Vietnam war which was an atrocity, No seat belts, F&^% the 1960's. It was NOT a good time. People were stupid and all the toy companies had one mission in mind... make money.

Look into the green new deal, and any "environmental protection" legislation. They don't actually care about environment, just better methods of extracting money (energy) from humanity
