Do I ever wish I could go back?! Every day! I would give anything to take my wife and grandchildren and go back to the 70s and do it all over again because the seventies and eighties were the best times ever!

Loved the Bell Beefer, but I also loved the Beef Burrito (no beans or rice). Wish McDonalds would still sell the Apple or Cheese Danish for breakfast. Back in the 70-80s KFC had a ham sandwich and the Bar-B-Q sauce for it was the best one I've had.

Gee, Your Hair Smells Terrific was EVERYTHING the narrator claims. It smelled SO good! I used it as a teen in the '80s - even as late as 1986/1987. I miss it! I remember all of the things listed. One of the worst among them is the 8-track cassette. You could be vibing during a song and it would fade out and switch tracks and fade in where you left off. Ugh. To this day, I can't hear a specific song from "Jesus Christ Superstar" without pausing in that spot. It doesn't sound right to me when the song plays all the way through.

The person you credit for creating cabbage patch dolls stole that from the original creator and never gave credit

I was a kid during the 70’s but we had a white stove and fridge. We had gold carpets but not shag, a pinkish bathroom. But it was the best decade to grow up in.

My dad bought me a Revelation single barrel 410 shotgun from western auto in about 1972. I hunted dove with it in north Florida for years. There was a store close to my house in Wauchula FL. I would stop by on my bike and they would air up my tires and oil my chain for nothing. Really nice store and nice folks working there

Being in my early 70s, I remember most of these retail giants. I was a Woolworth's employee when I was in high school. In downtown Rochester (NY), Sibley's was an annual visit during the Christmas season.

Xavier Roberts 100% STOLE the idea, backstory, and design of the Cabbage Patch dolls (originally marketed as Little People) from Martha Nelson Thomas. Roberts met her at a craft fair in Kentucky. Roberts traveled from state to state in the southeastern United States attending craft fairs and folk art exhibitions, buying up other artists' work and passing it off as his own. He asked Ms. Thomas to supply him with dolls to sell in Georgia, where he lived and worked. Thomas briefly let him sell her Doll Babies, but stopped when she found out he was passing the dolls off as his own creation. Roberts created his "own version" in 1978 (almost an exact copy of Thomas's), and Thomas filed her first suit against Roberts in 1979. By 1983, she was seeking $1 million in damages from Roberts. In 1984, the case was settled out of court for an undisclosed amount. Not only did Roberts pass the dolls off as his own idea, but he CLAIMED to have sewn every one of them and to have personally signed each one when the truth turned out to be that he hired local seamstresses and the signature was a stamp. None of this came out until the court case, of course.

My friends and I never had or even heard of Snap Bracelets in the 80s. Back then, the big fads were woven friendship bracelets or the bendable Jelly Bangles, thin pvc bangles in every color of the rainbow, and the biggest trend with them was to interlace 2 of them so you had a different color on either side of your wrist. Thin etched aluminum bangles were the other big trend; you could get a set of 20 for just a couple of bucks, and they came in every color.

Sadly, Sears and Kmart can be added to this list now. While not a department store, Toys-R-Us is another staple of my childhood that is now gone. I remember numerous department stores in Southern California in the 1970s and 1980s that are now sadly gone. A couple are in this list, but so were Buffum's, Robinson's, May Company, Zody's, Gemco, Fedmart, Thriftimart, and probably a few others I don't remember at the moment. Sadly, lots of other specialty retailers have also gone the way of the dodo - Radio Shack, Circuit City, Good Guys, Federated (Electronics), Fry's Electronics, the Blue-Chip Stamp stores, numerous 5 & 10 stores, Builder's Emporium, numerous family-owned hardware stores, and so on...

I remember living in Evansville, In in the late 80's, when federal agents were transporting Pete Rose to federal prison in Terre Haute, and he wanted to stop by a McDonalds for a pizza, and they accomodated him. It made the local news back then.
