Thanks! I have one a day in my smoothie for energy and calories since I have a very high metabolism, in my 70s and go to the gym 4 days a week. Need about 2,700 calories daily just to keep up my weight.

You got muscle spasms from magnesium deficiency or lack of potassium. Absolutely not from turmeric. Change your magnesium deficient diet.

Yes, turmeric, esp the extract curcumin, causes spasms of gallbladder and stomach/esophageal sphincters, so strong, you might think you're having a heart attack. Turmeric is high in oxalates, can pose danger to kidneys, cause gout, it binds iron which can lead to anemia. It is noted to cause muscle spasm in women 60+ using Vitd and reportedly other drugs. Folks best aught to research the benefits and action pos. and neg of the food they eat and supplements and drugs taken. It is very eye opening to see how you can cause your own problems or cure them.
