Great videos on the planted tank set up. I have 5 aquariums of various sizes & a 70 gallon pond - all planted. Father Fish saved my aquarium hobby life! These tanks are so easy to take care of! In fact, they ALL survived 6 days without power - no lights, air or even food after Hurricane Milton came through. A testament to the eco system of these tanks! Nice response to the viewer with FF concerns, btw. I’ve been following FF for over a year now, and as the Christian preacher he is, never heard him speak unloving toward ‘other’ people. one question : Can I feed strictly on the bigger sized fruit fly ( the Hydei ) as a staple for al instars ( including adulthood of the Female and male Orchid mantis ) ? I ask that since I have endless supply of these fruit flies since I keep Dart frogs for over 15 years . P.S. I dust the fruit flies with repashy multivitamin ( calcium + ) powder prior to feeding the frogs, would that be beneficial to the mantis as well as an additional minerals and vitamins sources other than the gut loading with the feeding substrate which I grow my fruit flies on? I've just had an Orchid mantis ootheca hatch a few days ago ( about 90 hatchlings ) and I'm going try to feed vitamin covered fruit flies to half the hatchlings and the other half just the fruit flies.

@Bugs in Cyberspace, we are new to insects and just got 8 male hissing cockroaches. We have had them a few days and just noticed a mite or two on one of them. All of yours in this video seem to be mite free. After searching the internet there seems to be a wide variety of opinions about these mites. Some say they have to have them to live long lives and some people say to remove them in various ways. We would prefer to remove the mites if possible, but not sure of a safe way to do this. We are keeping them as pets and are already quite attached to them. We have a range of ages, but most are quite young. Can you help? Any advice?
