I feel like we should make a drinking game for every time you say stunning. I mean this in the BEST way possible. I got my first taste of the Canadian Rockies last year and all of it was stunning! Wonderful video, thanks for sharing!!

Yes, Calgary Library (Main Branch) is a relatively new building in the Calgary downtown core. Just a block up was the old Main Branch, which was lovely in and of itself, but not nearly as architecturally impressive. I would honestly have gone with a traditional poutine before trying a more specialty/fusion take, but I'm glad you enjoyed the Mexican take. Decent attempt at saying "Nanaimo" bar (I've heard worse attempts!). And you're right: that was not a traditional Nanaimo bar, which is like diabetes in a couple bites. Thanks for your very positive "review" of Calgary and for showcasing some of the more iconic spots Calgarians know well. Safe travels and happy dining!

Thank you so much for your comment! We did actually have traditional poutine the night that we flew in but didn’t capture that on camera unfortunately. We enjoyed both versions though, and absolutely loved Calgary. We can definitely see ourselves visiting again someday. 😁

Oh us too! We live in Colorado and feel at home in the mountains. We like beach vacations too, but the mountains always call us back!

I have driven this road 3 times, the last time I went with a buddy who is a botany professor, it took us 10 hours to do the 2.5 hour drive as we kept stopping. Truly one of the most beautiful highways in the world.

That doesn’t surprise me at all. I think it took us 12 hours to drive it. 😂 It was so beautiful though so we couldn’t help but to stop. My only wish is that we had seen a bit more wildlife. I would have loved to see a moose that day!

Nah, sorry--you have not yet had a Nanaimo Bar (pronounced nah NI mo), though I imagine the cookie version was tasty. The real Nanaimo Bar (named after the coastal city, Nanaimo, British Columbia, Canada where it originated) is so sweet it will make your toes curl or teeth ache (depending on if you end up loving it, or not so much). Your lovely videography captures your surroundings very well; I really enjoyed this video and am going to have to check out some of your others!

WOW!! I am definitely putting the Icefields Parkway on my list to travel! Thank you for sharing this video! I have been to Banff before as well as Lake Louise (back in the mid-90's) on day trips I took from Calgary. Those two towns are both beautiful.

Yes, this drive is so worth doing! I had been to Banff before as well on a girls trip, but I didn’t make it to Jasper so this time we made sure that we added this drive and Jasper to our itinerary. Next time we head that way we will have to make sure to see Yoho and Kootenay National Parks too!

Is the highway fully opened, can we drive from banff to Jasper and does all the viewpoints are open.

That’s a great question that I unfortunately don’t fully know the answer to. Since we visited this June there has been a massive wildfire in the Jasper area. I’d recommend checking parks.canada.ca for the most up to date information about area closures before you make the drive.

For safety reasons, I would recommend knowing how to swim anytime you do a water based excursion.

I am cruising to the Dominican Republic October 2025. As soon as I seen this excursion I was sold. I am very out of shape and I’m late 40’s but I’m just going to have to physically prepare myself. I mostly just wanted to say you did amazing! I too am afraid of heights. I skydived in Hawaii last year and expected to back out but I have to say my fear just disappeared in that moment. I hope that happens here for me as well. Looks too beautiful to miss out. Great job! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Ah, thank you for your sweet comment! This excursion really sold us too. The guides were great about taking breaks along the hike, and we had people of all ages along the hike with us. It really wasn’t too bad in our opinion. Definitely uphill, but with all the stops they took it wasn’t too hard. The best part was definitely trying to conquer that fear of heights and jumping in the water. The buggies were also so much fun though! You will love this one excursion. 😁

Is this where I can ask a question? We are going on the Sky in 2 weeks. We went on the Norwegian Sprit last year, and one of the small cafes did pots of tea [as I'm English I am addicted to tea!] Is there one of these on the Sky? Or is it only Starbucks that you have to pay for, and they don't do very good tea? Thanks for your help. We rae very excited to see the Caribbean. Recommend the Spirit from Sydney to Tahiti too.

We aren’t big tea drinkers ourselves and don’t recall there being any specific places to get tea from on the sky. However, I’m sure you can ask for tea in the dining areas, although it may just be a basic cup of tea. Sorry we don’t have a more helpful response to your question. We hope that you have an amazing time in the Caribbean though!

How was the hike to the waterfall? Im going with older people moderately active so I was wondering if theyd be able to do it.

I would say be prepared for an uphill hike for around a mile or so. It wasn’t terribly hard and they took several breaks for everyone along the way. There were people probably in their 50s- early 60s doing this hike with us.

We booked it thought the Norwegian cruise line that we were on. It was one of the available excursions. The title of this video is what the excursion was called. 😁 Hope that helps!

There was a little bit of shopping, but not a ton if I remember correctly. I know they had a jewelry shop, an art gallery, and a small gift shop/duty free store.

Going on my first cruise ever! February 20, 25! Southern Caribbean cruise and I’ll be in Antigua as well! Contemplating if I should do this or not. I’m a scaredy-cat. Lol but I wanted to do something cool but I’m scared. Lol thanks for the vid.

@apocketfullofsunshine6060 Swimming with stingrays was seriously our favorite excursion of this cruise! We still talk about this experience and it’s been over a year since we did it. Don’t let your fears stop you! In our opinion at least, it’s so worth it! 😁

We loved Maho beach! Seeing the airplanes was awesome and we would highly recommend going there if you have time! Definitely bring your bathing suit as the water was so nice!

Just a tip as someone who has swam in a lot of oceans, if you wash your swimsuit each day (just in the shower with water) and hang to dry, it should prevent the smell. Usually cruise ships will have somewhere to hang it or a retractable clothes line in the bathroom. I have one swimsuit and so does my husband, never had an issue! Great tips! We just booked a similar 9-day for our 10 year anniversary in August. 😊

Oh good to know! We were hanging them to dry, but we weren’t washing them at all between uses. We can definitely try this next time!

Yep. A good rinse AND a little bit of soap for a quick wash! I always travel with a little container with some dish soap to wash my water bottle and a few drops of DAWN work great on any clothes you want to wash.

I am going there in April and I have the similar fear of jumping into water 😢. You did Amazing. How many jumps did you have yo do? Do you have to know swimming to do this adventure. Thank you

Hey there, there were only 2 or 3 jumps total I believe and they had slide options or steps available as well if you didn’t want to jump. I chose to jump only the one time and took the natural rock slides the other times. They also have you wearing life vests so I don’t think swimming is incredibly important as you mostly just float and kick your legs a little bit. However, for safety I would always recommend you know how to swim anytime you get in the water. I’m not the best swimmer but can manage in short excursions like this just fine, especially if I have on a life vest. 😁 I hope this helps.

I'm sorry...$20 per day for a room cleaning isn't worth it when You may choose not to have your room cleaned...wait till end of the cruise and request the waiver.

We actually didn’t mind paying the fee. The daily gratuities fee covers gratuities for everyone employee on the ship including your dining staff, housekeepers, general cleaning crew, employees that work in laundry, etc. so really that free goes a long way to help make sure you have a good experience. Thats our thought at least.

Hi Thank you for sharing your experience on the sky cruise ship. My questions: 1) Did you only part take in a few excursions? Or every Port you did excursion ? 2) If you only choose three excursions. What did you do at the other ports? 3) Already booked for upcoming cruise with my teenagers. Did you see teenagers? 4) Are there signs letting you know your food selections are not complimentary? Hey there! I’d suggest watching our stateroom confessionals video for more details about our experience on the sky! We talked in much more detail about the cruise overall in that video, giving some tips and tricks as well as stating our favorite/least favorite excursions, etc. We did do multiple excursions though, only spending one day in Puerto Rico where we didn’t do an excursion. We chose to just walk around that city ourselves and don’t regret that decision at all as it’s very accessible by foot and we really enjoyed our time there. As for teenagers being on that cruise, I can’t say that we saw many…however we were also cruising during the school year so there weren’t many kids in general on the ship. Lastly, for the dining I can’t really say that there were signs stating they weren’t complimentary, but you could tell as they asked us if we wanted to make reservations in any of the specialty dining restaurants, which has a cost associated just like booking an excursion. Woohoo!@@theturneradventures What line, ship, and date? (I promise I am not a stalker.) I will be on a NYE Cruise on NCL Encore and a transatlantic on NCL Joy over Valentine's Day. They have some aMAZing rates, btw. I am not a travel agent. But, they have some dirt-cheap rates for this sailing which is the first after they come out of dry dock with a bunch of refurbishments. I guess I took the time to comment on your videos because I watch a ton of cruising-related videos here and when I saw how new/fresh your channel is, I was shocked. The production value and the friendly banter and the relevant details you share made me think you were a much more experienced pair of sailors. Keep it going and remember: happiness comes in waves. =)

Both my husband and I enjoyed the buffet quite a bit. There were only a few occasions that we didn’t like a dish in the buffet, but overall we ate there every day and didn’t have any major issues with the food. 😁

I’ve cruised 20+ times and I prefer smaller ships. I don’t have children and the huge ships are geared towards families. Lots of activities, lots of them have fees for everything. Larger ships have more lineups, getting on and off takes time especially when there are tenders. Some you have to reserve everything. A big part of it to me is the music and nightlife. I was on the Norwegian Jewel, 2400 passengers, had the best time ever, non stop music all night long! Someone told me about a cruise on a large ship with 6000 passengers with 900 kids, can’t imagine it. My maximum is about 3000 passengers.

We are planning to try out a large cruise ship early next year as well to see the difference, but I have a feeling we may prefer the smaller ships too. We also don’t have kids and don’t love large crowds, so we will see what we think of the large ship experience.
