I’m going to be heading there from Halifax in the spring and then south . A fast tour through the Lesser Antilles stopping in Grenada for the hurricane. Then a more leisurely tour of the same islands after November.

I was in the same Technical Drawing class at Brooklyn Tech as Ms. Aebi. How is it that she didn't get into Stuyvestant?

The Lord Nelson 41? I owned one for ten years. Lost her in Great Cruz Bay on St. John in 1995 in hurricane Marilyn. I wasn't aboard. I sailed AFARAN, that LN 41, back and forth from Maine to the islands half a dozen timber, solo. Love that boat. Comfortable to live on, and sail. You can read my stories on the three hurricanes I did survive one AFARAN in Caribbean Compass Magazine and on my website. DHLyman.com. Click on Writer and you'll find all mob recent magazine articles.

Excellent, interesting and informative video. David has a very easy style, a truly crafted writer/ story teller. Its a joy to glee information from a real world sailor, rather that wading trough unrealistic, polished KZbin guff that so often gets all the attention on here. Keep the good work up David, the beer is on me if I see you down island. J

Hi Tania. Like so many others commenting, I too read your book years ago. I thoroughly enjoyed your incredible adventure. It was very impressive to read how your learned celestial navigation as you sailed to Bermuda. Hopefully, one day you will come to Vancouver to make a presentation. AL Vancouver, Canada.

One of the books that inspires me, read it many years ago and as a sailor I just loved how it transported me to a different world. Still a dream to follow and still an inspiration. Must read it again. I think I read that Varuna may have been abandoned which is a real shame. Andy UK

I'll never forget having met the hero of that wonderful book. You inspired me. Because of you I believe that sometimes you have to bite off more than you "think" you can chew. That's the difference between wondering where your life went and living an exceptional life, like yours.
