Excellent stuff Johnny! I have a later model which has different ignition control module (igniter as you call it) and it was a bitch to reach even with the front right wheel off and fender liner detached. Great tips and tricks Johnny. Thanks - Oh and I have a wiring diagram for the igniter etc if you still want it @Johnny5ive

"The first generation Isuzu Trooper was introduced in Japan for the 1981 model year. Offered with a variety of engine and transmission options, the Trooper was also offered in numerous body styles: a two-door soft top utility roadster model, a 3-door long wheelbase model, a 3-door short wheelbase model, and a 5-door long wheelbase model. Isuzu changed the front grille and headlights from round to rectangular in 1987, and introduced a premium LS trim for the 5-door LWB models that added cruise control, automatic windows, folding seats, and other upgrades. The Trooper was upgraded to disc brakes at all four wheels for the 1988 model year. The first generation Trooper was sold in the US from 1984-1991. It was available in 3 and 5-door LWB configurations from 1984-1986. The 3-door LWB configuration was dropped in 1987, with the 5-door LWB continuing through the end of 1991 production. For the 1989 model year only, the US got a limited production run of 3-door SWB models, called the Trooper RS. It's reported that fewer than 800 RS's were imported for 1989."

Will the air conditioner work? Also was there any issues with not capping off the fuel pressure regulator? I notice that there's not a vacuum hose going to the top of it in your video when done.

Hello, I watched your channel before. I have a 2002 Isuzu Trooper V6 3.5 4 x 4. I’m desperately trying to find a transmission wire harness front to back. The front three plugs have to have a black blue and green wire that plug-in by the radiator. Would you have any suggestions? Wayne

I hear on the Isuzu trooper mafia group a lot of people say you can do it through the wheel well I just tried the other day it seems about impossible I guess I’m gonna have to follow your video and do it like this what a flipping pain in the ass I also heard there’s some ways to delete it or route them other ways that not recommended?

Hello, sorry if anyone has this information. I have a 2.6L isuzu friend and I changed the cylinder head or head of a 2.3 and the gasket blew, what should I do to prevent it from happening again, just change the 2.3 head, the rest is from the 2.6 in my region it is easier to get the 2.3

A scraper or razor blade to clean engine deck won't de-burr the mating surfaces. Rounding water jackets and surfaces here isnt good. Can lead to blown head gaskets.

Got a question I'm in the process of rebuilding a 90 isuzu trooper. And eventually I'm swaping the 3.2dohc. But until I can get the rest of the stuff needed. I'd like to make this run better. How do you delete the air pump shit. Don't need it where I live.

I'm looking for a replacement speedometer gear for a 1986 Trooper. Any help or insight would be great. The speedo works when I attach a drill to the cable so I'm assuming that the trans speedo gear is bad.

I have coolant burning in my 4ZE1. Could it be water pump gasket or is it for sure head gasket?
@73SDR3 ай бұрын
It's not the water pump gasket. It doesn't keep water in or out of the combustion changer.

Hey, i completely agree with your comments on this overdrive Traumatic, Trimatic transmission, i got duped twice, GM had the old 3L30, that added an extra planatary between the torque converter and the actual transmission making it a 4 speed, which could have been a 6 forward speed with 2 reverse speeds if needed, and having lock up converter with electronic controlled- 4L30e, i worked in a shop rebuilding transmissions, and owning a GM car having this transmission, and seeing its age, decided to get spare transmission to rebuild and install in my vehicle before my car trans failed and be on foot going to work and back home, turns out when dismantled the spare 4L30e, could not believe the cheap construction, as you said in the video, made in France, another famous french transmission called the AL4 / DPO, uses a simple bushing to support the turbine shaft at the side cover and also this bushing provides the sealing for pressure transmission to the 3rd clutch pack, and guess what, it fails within 40K Km's ..same principle with the 4L30e, turbine shaft to the direct drum clutch pack uses 3 sealing rings and 1 thin bushing for pressure transmission to the direct drum clutch pack, any wear on this bushing, leads to slippage -but most times holds back some amount for not complete slippage and engine flaring, and heats up the fluid to point blue smoke comes out filler tube, also this direct clutch pack only has 1 clutch disc for torque transmission from turbine to 3L30 part of this overdrive transmission, most other transmission brands use 2,3,4 clutch discs on their direct clutch pack, bmw variants of this 4L30e had 2 clutch discs equipped from the factory, proceeding in transmission disassembly, found the 3rd gear clutch pack /drum/shaft to use the similar "french " bushing to support the shaft and transmit pressure to the 3rd gear clutch pack, being a very small clutch pack in diameter and in the centre of the transmission, heat dissipation be a major problem, and any slippage quickly destroys this clutch pack and even the return springs for the clutch pack piston, futher disassembly reveals the servo for the 1st/2nd brake band suffering from excess pressure leakage, investigating showed the transmission case cylinder suffered wear , measured almost 1.0mm gap in metal piston ring when installed by it self in the bore it works in. Also the pressure applied to this 1st/2nd servo comes from a pwm solenoid, which in many occasions the transmission judder in 1st originates from the pwm pulse of this solenoid acting on the leaking servo...also the return spring for this servo is way too stiff to have proper drum lock up for withstanding high torque output from the engine. Things can be done to improve this transmission, but "french " made using bushings for shaft support and pressure transfer, recipe for disaster...i got duped twice, my opel omega B back home has this transmission, being a 96year car, today doing around 54K Km's and rarely driven, at my residence had a chevrolet omega suprema with this same 4L30e , ended up recently giving away the car as could not sell a piece of crap to another person...
