Not really, but I sharpen and balance my blades every other cut.

I'd have to check to be sure, but I'm sure I do, I've never seen a mower with belts that don't bounce/vibrate at least a little.

Everything is sealed on these units. No zerks on the deck spindles or the front wheel spindles. Some of the pro models have/had grease zerks.

I just recently bought a ZTHD52 and was relieved that my $100 Harbor Freight mower lift will lift it sufficiently to service the blades. 9.2 hours on it so it will be getting oil change in a couple days. I had to move the deck wheels up to the high position as it wouldn’t match my S240 when in the 2 1/4 inch setting. After adjusting the deck wheels it matched the JD’s cut. I was surprised at how clean the underside of the deck was as I had cut quite a bit of wet grass with it. It was rainy the day they delivered the mower but I had to try it out anyway. The rear deck wheels are hidden on the inside of the rear deck wall. I had to jack the mower up to adjust them. I noticed the deck wheels noise quickly because it was speed related. ZTR mowers are loud and naturally noisy. I wear shooters muffs or ear plugs and don’t worry about the rattles or occasional screeches.

Thanks for this tip. I am getting my mower this week. We have crawdads really bad, so from March-thru May, I have to get under the mower and scrape off the mud. Did you get the 12" ONE-PIECE MULTI-PURPOSE WHEEL CRIBS?

Right after this video I got a set of wheels cribs from Race Ramps. Much easier and safer.

I adjusted the pitch on mine also, wasn't off by much though, maybe 1/4" I think. My parking brake also needs to be adjusted now, easy fix though.

Hey, this setup and fish have been gone for years now, this video is pretty old. To answer your other questions, no a 10 gallon is not large enough for Cichlids. It was a temporary setup I used for them for a few months until I could get the 55gal tank setup. They all did fine though for the few months they were in it, but they were pretty small, like 2 inches long or less at the time.

Does pretty great overall, I have cut in a light rain trying to beat a storm a few times and it was fine. No major clumping or plugging.

Hi, maybe 3-6 months at max depending on their current size and how fast they grow. Once they are about 2 inches long, they need to go into a minimum of 55 gallons. If they are already adult size, I wouldn't keep them in there at all, they would likely kill each other pretty quickly.

Thanks for stopping by! I actually have new plans to get back into saltwater and start a couple reef tanks, hopefully in the next year or so. Currently remodeling our house so I don't have much time for anything else.

I do not and I just changed it about 10 hours ago so I won't be changing it again for a while. It's pretty easy other than trying to get to the vent bolt on top of the housing. It's a little easier if you take the wheels off. Other than that, it's roughly two quarts per side, buy and extra quart just in case, so 5 total.

Yeah my yard is fairly bumpy also, not like yours though. You can get a seat dampening kit for it for I think like $150 or less. You could also upgrade to the air ride seat, but that's like a $1500 kit 😕

TD MILESKI Have you ever installed the $150 version of the seat suspension kit? The Gravely kit is about $250. I might get the cheeper version and try to smooth out my yard.

The Ariens Apex would be the clone of the Gravely ZT or ZT X. Can't remember which at the moment. But they are completely different machines than the ZT HD series. The HD have commercial grade hydros, heavy duty boxed frame, better/bigger engine options, thicker guage steel for the deck, larger thicker ply tires, stronger spindles for the blades, etc... completely different level of machine.

@@yanniobkirk5744 ahh ok. I thought the Apex was the lower model, but I didn't look. My mistake. That must be the cap then in the Ariens line because I know they don't make any Pro Turn equivalent models in the Ariens.

Just got the Ariens Apex 48. It has the 3100 hydros. Pretty much the same mower as the ZT HD. Only difference is red paint and $200 more for the Gravely.

I did run it before hand, didn't mention it in the video, but it was hot. Changed it 5x now and it's the same every time. I think its the hose. That little indented area with the hole in it is for the oil to drain out of the drain bolt hole normally as the engine comes from Kawasaki. Gravely adds that hose at their plant to try and make the process less messy, but it just restricts flow.

No, the drain hose does not fit through the hole. You can't tell in the video, but I jacked up the left side of the mower and put it on blocks to get it to lean towards the right, doesn't make a difference, it still drains slow as hell. As far as keeping it clean, I blow it off with compressed air after every use and hand wash it with soap and water and a wash mit a couple times per season.

Yeah, I plan on getting one before this fall. They are pricey though since they are a powered bagger system. Like $1200.

@@TDMILESKI Look around online maybe save a little money. Also after 2 or 3 years the price should come down about 400 dollars. At least the one I have did.

You probably already know this, but they are the same company. Ariens owns and manufacturers Gravely. The lower end models like the ZT and ZTX have Ariens counterparts. The ZT-HD and Pro models are Gravely only though. Mine has been great so far. Zero issues!

The wife and I got a ariens ikon xd last month and we love it! We chose the Kawasaki engine and we love it to!

Hey Ron, I believe I did have it elevated on a couple 2x4's on the opposite side. And in subsequent oil changes have had it elevated and it still takes forever to drain.

@@TDMILESKI ok thank you! , I must have missed it, Thank you for the response. Have you tried the reverse funnel trick over the oil fill, with low pressure air hose? I also can suggest a inexpensive evacuator trick, only a few dollars, if you have a Shop Vac.

I can engage mine fairly low without stalling, but I usually engage around half throttle, never more than that. I believe the manual says to engage at full throttle, but that just seems too harsh to me.

I don't remember what it is off hand, I want to say it's a 23mm, but I'd have to check to be sure.

Yeah they are great mowers! I'm just at 45 hours on mine now with zero issues. I bought a spare set of blades also, so I just keep one set sharp and makes swapping them out easy and fast.
