The tune is gripping and the message as relevant today as it was then.

Does anybody remember listening to this in Mpigi in the 1970s. I lived there till the age of fourteen. I remember listening to it as it blasted out of a jukebox in a nearby bar. Really love this song. Been looking this for years. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for posting it. ❤

Thanks for the selection. These “oldies” carry with them the nostalgia that reminds one of the years of the 1960’s and the 1970’s. Well, by that time we lacked some of the essential commodities but the people were faithful, honest, and ruling with integrity. I remember these are the days when 22 referral hospitals and 22 Senior Secondary Schools were constructed and equally distributed throughout UGANDA! Bursaries were equally distributed, and salaries fairly distributed. The leaders were honest and led or ruled with integrity. They feared God and never mocked God. Ensi Uganda yalimu “Okuswaala”.

Gramophone yaffe, amayinja, n’ebifaananyi byaffe byonna olutalo lwa NRA /NRM lwabitwala okwo kwossa ab’emikwano ne nganda zaffe abafiira mu lukoola. These “OLDIES” bring a lot of Nostalgia. Gugudde is the rebirth and revival of Christianity here in Uganda. The present day “Pentecostal Churches” owe a lot to GIGUDDE Church at MAKERERE. Long live Eclas Kawalya

But do people really know that this was live band music? Owulira omusajja bwasuna olukoba ate nayogeza endongo. Long live live band. Ssimanyi oba Joanita Kawalya amanyi nti “she is carrying on Kawalya’s musical genes in the Afrigo Band?” Has we been in a country that knows how to value the people’s talents and fairly rewarding, the live band like the AFRIGO BAND, and people like Joanita Kawalya, Matovu, etc should have been rewarded

Eclas Kawalya’s music reminds us the “music journey” UGANDA has so far travelled. The composition, the poetry, the selection of words, the plucking of live guitar etc. It just takes us back in the 1960’s. Wonderful memories

Olwo balenzi ng’enduulu bakuba.... nga n’okuzina bazina... Mukama natutikkula eggugu... Ffe twawaba wa Katonda natutikkula eggugu. History repeats itself.... the Baganda are like Jews... the Greeks oppressed them, the Romans ruled them, King Nabuchadenezzar exiled then In Babylon etc So are The Baganda, the British Colonialists trumped our Kingdom, Obote exiled and poisoned our King Muteesa II, Amin came and killed many, Okello and Lutwa looted our kingdom, Museveni pretended, and lied the people in LUWEERO and millions died during the NRA guerrilla civil war! Even up to now still no compensation, but all will go, but the Buganda Kingdom was, is snd shall always be! Anti “Akaalo ka wano kadda nnyo, akaalo kaliko nannyiniko”
