Saw ans heard this at the proms last night. It was absolutely brilliant - the explanation in the first half was really interesting and the performance out of this world. Congratulations.

What a refreshing difference seeing musicians enjoying each others' company, looking at each other, their bodies freer to express the music, and with more emotional connection with the audience - rather than their heads stuck in their music! A different musical experience altogether. Yes, more of this!

The Sabbath of the witches, no wonder Paganini loved this piece (and later gifted Berlioz 20k franc), he also had a taste for the slightly dark and grotesque.

They have done it without conductor. The adrenalin us infectious. You should have heard their Rite of Spring. They even make me enjoy Beethoven!

The scherzo probably inspired by Beethoven's 9th.

This was great. I always feel this symphony is best played at quite a high pace. This was the symphony that got me into The Master. I’ve been a disciple ever since (over 40 years ago). If only Ludwig knew how loved he would go onto become…..❤

Again, what is the idea of having the orchestra stand up while performing. Is it just for optics? What?

This is a phenomenal achievement!! I love Beethoven, but I am not a musician, so I can only guess at the skill and practice necessary for an orchestra to play a whole symphony without any printed music. This also meant that their attention was 100% on the conductor and I think this contributed to the success of this incredible venture. Skill, teamwork an leadership, More LIKES, please!

the human culture peaked in the baroque era, after that it declined progressively and now are at the border of insanity. those artists saw the promised land.

What a beautiful idea. Really knowing the music so well that you play it from your imagination. Vocal soloist, take heed: if you can't sing your pieces from memory, you're cheating yourself and you're cheating the audience. They'll never know how great an artist you are until you sing to them without looking down all the time, especially when you don't need to. When I go to a concert, I want to see what the soloist is seeing; I want to see their eyes holding mute. Holding the music is just an old custom based on holding the hymnal in church. We are called to music and to work hard at it. Show your stuff.

you should definitely cut the introduction and post the symphony only here on youtube.. the long intro is probably the only reason why your perfomance has hundreds of likes instead of hundreds of thousands.. to me this is clearly the best performance of this great symphony ever!!

Doesn’t she talk well? So certain in anything and everything ...a veritable oracle. It helps if one gets ‘legs up’ throughout one’s life and career from the ‘Tribe’ : but at ‘the reckoning’ she is fooling no one ...except , perhaps, herself ...

How the hell has this been up for a year without a comment? Well, no time like the present to remedy that sad state of affairs... This is, quite simply put, magnificent - a clean, delicate, restrained, and utterly stunning display of truly wonderful artestry that does ample justice to a simple but profound little composition from one of the titans of The Baroque. You've sent a shiver up my spine and brought tears to my eyes, so highest praise and compliments from one performer to two clearly formidable colleagues, and deepest gratitude from one human being to another. Your performance has stirred my soul and brought it deep joy, a gift for which you have my sincerest thanks...
