I have seen a comment that pulling in the clutch when starting helps prevent sprag issues?

Great video, very clear and concise. Disappointed with Triumph for not making the replacement directly compatible. Great job many thanks Jeremy Russell

You were lucky the collar didn’t drop in the sump! There is another video of the same procedure but taking precautions to avoid that😀👍

I find it incredible that a Manufacturer supplies a Modified part where you need to remove material from the Crankcase to get it to fit...

You were very lucky that spacer never bounced off the gears and toddled off down into the bottom of the case. Could have cost you a lot more time trying to fish it out. May have turned into an engine split quite easily. Well done though & thanks for the video upload. 🙏🏽

Great video.I think mine needs replacing. I asked the mechanic what was involved and his explanation lost me after a minute. How many hours work is this, starting and finishing with a road ready bike?

1994 sprint with no sprag clutch plate - keep mine charged all the time so only starts on full battery - splitting the engine casing would be my worst nightmare.

I have a 92 trophy 900 with the same problem as you had. Haynes manual puts this job as difficult, im not sure if i could do it. Im interested to know, how long did it take you to do the job ?

It took about 3 hours, but the customer had already removed tank, coils and carbs.

My old trident is at 56k on original sprag - not looking forward to doing this. But thanks for posting video: it's going to be a godsend when the day comes.

I heard it was advisable to push a new spline through to avoid any possibility of dropping washers....
