I took about 6 hours making my factory for oil. I usually take a lot of time making my factories look good so I've only just got onto fuel from a save i'm at 130 hours plus 😂. Whilst this recipe is great for efficiency (Only used a pure node and got 20K power), the empty cartridges are a pain in the arse and I had to use load balances and you need shit loads cartridges to get it started too. Overall, I think next time I'll wait till I can get the blender.

do u recommened building in the desert rather than plains ?
@skyking47474 ай бұрын
Each location has its drawbacks. The plains don't have hardly any pure nodes. Which makes you have to use alot overclocking and taking nodes from all over (a lot of logistics). The desert has better nodes. normal mostly but a few pure nodes. However, there aren't a lot of easy hard drives or slugs. Personally, I think the northern forest is best. even with the changes. It's just my favorite not for any optimal reason. I just like it. I've made like 7 or 8 different worlds in my 1200 hours. So there's plenty of opportunities to try new places. Even using the same places to make different things. Can make the game feel fresh new. If you don't want to start over, you can always hyper tube cannon yourself to one of the other locations and see what you like and don't like. I'm only in the desert because I've never made it really far there. I always stop around phase 2. I just get bored of it, but this time I'm gonna stick it out and I'm just see if I can learn to love the desert.
@hollybollytollydhally4 ай бұрын
@@skyking4747 how does pure nodes help tho and how are u supposed to understand that its a pure node?
@skyking47474 ай бұрын
@hollybollytollydhally you hover over it and it says (impure, normal, or pure) it changes the output you get for a mk1 miner it's 30 for impure, 60 for normal, and 120 for pure. Doubled when you get to mk2 miners. 3 impure nodes with mk2 miners is only 180 iron per minute. 3 pure nodes with mk2 are 720 p/min. You get a lot more out of a single location. Those are the base rates. Even if you fully overclock all 3 impure nodes to 250%, you only get 450 per minute. So, to get the most of the impure nodes around the plains. You need 3 power shards for every miner, and you're still getting less than what you would with a pure node. They say the plains are the beginning area because the numbers are smaller, but as things start to stack, like when you're trying to use manufacturers, it starts getting difficult to have enough of a resource. Which just means you need a lot of logistics. Turcks trains belting aross the map. it's not impossible. Just gives a different challenge. You can for sure make it work. I'm just not a big fan of it
@hollybollytollydhally4 ай бұрын
@@skyking4747 oh so in the mid game switching to the deserts will be a better idea?
@skyking47474 ай бұрын
Finding pure nodes can go a long way. I would recommend looking on the interactive map and looking in the surrounding areas to find the nodes you need. The pink biome has a ton of pure nodes and bauxite (aluminum) There's alot of things you're gonna need than just iron and copper. ultimately there's a 1000 ways to cut the cheese. As long as your having fun that's what matters.

*Liked and Subbed* <---- retired engineer As I'm watching this video, I was reminded of a time when I wished to be like Mr. Brady of the Brady Bunch and become an architect... however, I decided to go down a different yet similar path and chose engineering as a career choice. When you said "make it pretty" I laughed because sometimes I'm inspired to do the same, yet my "engineer OCD brain" shouts at me "Make it functional! Who cares if it's ugly as long as it works!" My gaming sister and I both agree you have some great videos and she LOVES your "pretty" work. I personally like where your brain goes with the tunnel aspect for the trains... I did something similar in Empyrion Galactic Survival around a year ago [just learned of Satisfactory about 5 weeks ago, so I'm a rookie] and plan to do some "interesting" things moving forward. I finally have something that scratches my building itch and can occupy my free time. Oh... one last thing. C'MON! You're not fooling me! "This tunnel comes out thru a waterfall, so there's going to most likely be some small glitching but it will be okay." YEAH RIGHT! Having trains come thru an underground tunnel and out thru a waterfall? How cool is that? You KNOW it's cool! 😆

I do not understand how to completely enclose every factory. As you progress to higher manufactured goods, they require things that you are producing from all over. IE one thing could require items from 3 constructors, 2 assemblers, and a manufacturer, no matter if you enclose things or not, you are still going to have conveyors going every which way all over, I feel like enclosing things is just a huge waste of time and resources. I know people do it, I just cannot figure out how to make it work. I always end up removing walls and running conveyors all over making it a spaghetti mess.
@skyking47476 ай бұрын
@Rocky-or4rz there's no point in doing it. It's literally just for looks. It doesn't make anything run better. It doesn't save time or resources. Encasing everything just organizes the mess for the most part. Some people like spaghetti, and some people spend thousands of hours building stuff that doesn't even have factory components. Play the game how you want, and as long as you enjoy the game, that's what matters most. Thank you for sharing!
@Mutrax47066 ай бұрын
i just keep an eye on how much space is available, use whatever space i need, and THEN enclose it (when organizing isnt priority). it can easily be more efficient short term to smack everything together, but its just so much more satisfying to have everything be aesthetically pleasing and well organized. goes the same way irl. if it looks well organized and decently aesthetic, you enjoy it more than if it was theoretically more efficient but looks messy. apart from long term efficiency, thats pretty much it

Always build your power and their supply on a sperate power grid, and connect to the main grid with priority switches. Add the batteries to this seperate power grid. In the case of power failure, the generators still keep running, and automatically recharge batteries. By the time you solve problem caused the power failure, you can set the fuse, and the batteries will pump enough power to kick start the entire factory. Note this method is hard with nuclear, but other types are fine.
