Eddie Nash was a Lebanese immigrant whose surname was Nasrallah, anyway my buddy, solly Mossad informed me that Eddie was the brother of the recently retired with extreme prejudice leader of Hesbollah,it obliged me to reflect what a small world we live in.off course I have to say that my friend Solly Mossad,is sociopathic liar and violent psychotic,so he may not be telling the truth.

Nobody seems to notice that Sigourney's husband is always off on business...but what business! One mention is that he working on an investment in an idea of styrophone pellets to use in packing. In another scene he mentions something other HUGE HUGE idea. The husband who is nothing to her is certainly going to be IMMENSELY wealthy and almost certainly divorced from his wife long before.

Over sexualized and boring? Its deeper than the actual events. The sinister nature is what should be made apparent to you.

Damnit go read Red Harvest or any of Hammets Continental Op short stories. The nameless stranger with a personal code literally comes from there. Red Harvest was copied by Kurosawa for Yojombo which Leone ripped off for Fistful. Makes me crazy that Hammet doesn't get his due. Ever.

1. This scene is absolutely unforgettable. It has stuck with me since I've seen it. 2. I don't know if anyone watching or the hosts have been in a similar predicament as Ethan Hawke's character! I've been in some pretty interesting places taking my uncle to different spots at night in Detroit while I was growing up.. held captive in a strange environment around potentially untrustworthy characters, and your only source of protection has left your site. This was written so well, so accurately! ...The tension that was captured, the calm, menacing nature of the gang members simply there to get the job done, but inside the multi-faceted fabric of their moral code... this scene is just bonkers... one of the greats to me!

@@poettreeclimber at first I was unsure of the source of your comment until I saw your other comment. Just to be clear I do agree with you that this scene is great at building tension and is pretty much the only scene that stays with me. I have a bit of a checkered past myself as a dealer and have been in similar situations where you quickly realize you’re in with bad people with ill intent and there’s only a couple choices you can make that don’t lead to disaster. BUT… overall it just seemed a bit cheesy years later. I feel the same way about the movie Crash. First watch I thought it was brilliant and poignant. Second watch… I was cringing the whole time at how heavy-handed and unsophisticated it now appeared. Either they were never really good in the first place or I became a pretentious d-bag 🤷‍♂️🤣
