Fingers crossed! All my potatoes no matter the variety seem to be falling over and wilting on the lower leaves way sooner than the plant should be, any suggestions?

@@themondaycorner When you say all varieties, do you mean maincrops as well? I'd expect 1E and 2E to be going over soon (mine are). 1E are typically ready in 10-12 weeks from planting and 2E in 12-14 weeks.

@@DigwellGreenfingers Yes. I don't mind my 1E & 2E looking sad but my Sarpos, maris pipers are looking off too and they have 50 ish days to go. My SSPC look mostly ok.

@@themondaycorner They could just be "aging gracefully". Take the old leaves off before they attract pests and disease.

There are so many american varieties that we can't get over here. Next year I'm planning on trying the ones I can get hold- Russet Burbank and Yukon Gold 👍

If you can lift your carrots higher you are less likely to lose them to carrot flies which can only fly up to 60cms high. A tip I learned the hard way is that your compost bin should be put in as sunny a spot as you can, not shade. It needs heat to get and stay activated and produce good compost fast.

I have just embarked on my own container project, primarily as my long-neglected (and long, neglected) garden is infested by slugs and snails. Please can you tell me what is that conical appearing drill bit? It looks so much easier to use than mine.

I believe the conical appearing drill bit is called a Erbauer Step Drill Bit- it's like a knife through butter. I hope you win your battle again the slugs and snails!

That is a genius idea! but I'm wanting to lift the strawberry tower off the ground sooner than later. I would've planted the strawberries in baskets and done this. It would've been much easier! If only I had the brains to think of it!

If you get another blueberry bush of a different varity they will cross pollinate and you will have bigger and sweeter berry's. ❤

The onions are looking great. If you spot them earlier, the initial leaf will be bent and you can tease the narrow tip up. I've trimmed my onions so they aren't as straggly - ar about 8-10cm.
