Nice ride . Good video quality. Debating about replacing my old bike with a Navi , Super Cub , Ct 125 . Tough decision.

Between the Navi and CT125/Trail, the main factor is whether you want to go off-road ever, and if the extra 5 or so mph of top speed is worth it. I haven’t actually seen the Super Cub in person, at dealers I have mostly only seen the Navi and Monkey recently.

TVZ Nice video Is the acceleration and top speed worth the extra money over the Navi ? Both great bikes .
@thevideozone
@thevideozone 14 күн бұрын
The acceleration feels a little better and it feels like you can exceed 45 mph far more easily on the Trail. The fastest I have had it so far was 56 mph I think, I had been holding off to really test it until after the first service. It’s basically double the price, so the main difference is if you want the off-road capabilities. The Trail being fuel injected and having LED lights is an upgrade as well, and you can control the gears, but I still probably wouldn’t take the Trail on roads that I avoided on the Navi. Sure you can do 55mph+ on flat ground, but that’s completely flat out full throttle, so I wouldn’t want to be on roads with high speed limits on either, as being in the right lane as people whiz by non stop usually isn’t fun. For me it was worth the upgrade, but for lower speed cruising on city roads and streets, they’d both work well, you just get some more updated tech on the Trail. The Trail also has no passenger seat, not that a bike that size is comfortable for two people really.

I have the trail and the Cub. It does have a clutch, it's all inclusive with the gear shifter. I'm in etown, we just did a 3700 Mile trip on ours. I know people that have recently completed 10k miles one trip camp rides. So get out and explore
@thevideozone
@thevideozone 15 күн бұрын
I will probably not be hitting 10k miles anytime soon, but I do plan to get some serious rides in. The shifter for the bike took me a minute to get used to when I picked it up, to realize that you could hold the shifter up or down to keep the clutch engaged so you could try to match the revs to the shift if needed. Now it’s kind of second nature.

Thanks, I’ll have to explore more then. I didn’t go super far down Taylorsville Rd since the speed limit goes up in parts to 55mph, and the Navi wasn’t quite able to keep up at those speeds. Are there any specific roads to check out?

In 1974 a tornado tore through Louisville and one of the biggest victims was this park. Many trees were up rooted. One of the bad things about being in the Highlands area its more prone to these kinds of disasters and it was. BTW the pavilion was torn down in 2023 not worth repairing they said.

Just found you and subscribed, very nice vid I recognize most of the areas because I live they're also. I have the green ct125 and the grandson has one identical because we got them at the same time almost a year ago now. He talked me into getting one so we could ride together but that's only happened a couple times lol. I've been to the two-stroke Tuesday several times and now on Wednesday Bike Night at Pints and Union in New albany. I've seen a few of the yellow bikes around the area this summer, maybe one of them was you?

I still only have around 300 miles on the bike, so I haven’t ridden it a ton yet or gone to any bike events, but it could have been me. These bikes are super fun though, it is interesting now that you can tell the year of the bikes by the color.

I went on a few group rides over the past few years, but it has tapered off a bit in the past year or two. I found that through the Facebook group for electric riders of louisville. I think people have more stuck to just going for rides with friends who have the same kind of e-vehicle (EUCs, onewheels, etc.). Those usually went across the Big 4 to the Ohio River Greenway in Indiana. The Big 4 has signs now saying electric scooters/skateboards/etc. aren’t allowed anymore though.

Thanks for sharing. I own a Honda Ruckus and would have to trade it for the Honda Trail 125 if I pursued it. At this point, I'm hard pressed to give up my Ruckus, but the Trail 125 is more practical for around town travels lol. My only issue with my Ruckus and why I am considering a Trail 125 is the Ruckus tops out around 42MPH and my local roads go up to 60MPH... I chance myself a lot going through those 55MPH areas on my Ruckus lol.
@thevideozone
@thevideozone Ай бұрын
Yeh, when I had the Navi it topped out around 50mph, and was sketchy even on 45mph roads. I think something that can do 55mph consistently would probably be safe enough most places.

How are you enjoying the trail 125? Does it have the high/low switch like the old school ones? Im enjoying the Navi in Colombia, but id love if honda brought this or the yamaha tw200 here.
@thevideozone
@thevideozone 2 ай бұрын
I’m really enjoying it a lot. I liked the Navi, but the extra bit of off-road capability is very nice. It just has a 4 speed automatic transmission, so that is the only thing to deal with. I have mostly ended up keeping it in 2nd on most mid-low speed off road trips. It has minimal controls with the auto shifter, front/rear brakes, turn signal indicator, horn, high/low beam headlight button, and kill switch. It’s rather similar to the Navi in that regard aside from the shifter and having the digital speedo. The Trail doesn’t have the parking brake thing the Navi has though, it just has no lever on the left side since there is no clutch.

The Navi is 110cc with a cvt transmission and for the street only. The Trail is 125cc and has a 4 speed automatic shifter (no clutch) and it can go off-road. It’s also fuel injected and has modern LED lights and better instrumentation, whereas the Navi has a carb and cheap lights. In terms of all motorcycles, the Trail 125 is more for leisure and fun, you shouldn’t take it on highways as it tops out 55mph-ish.

Since the road to the top is typically closed, there aren’t usually many people at the top at night most days. When recording this, I did run into a person or two, but they were just walking their dogs. I wouldn’t recommend most people go walking alone in parks at night regardless of location, but I wasn’t too concerned since I was on the scooter that could do around 20 mph.

I watched and listened to almost half of this video. Though I haven't lived in Louisville for about 30 years (I'm 77) your remarks are nothing as I remember. So to me your comments don't fit the park. I've visited the area many times since and so I assume your comments are just hog wash. So it probably won't surprise you to hear/read that I don't intend to watch your videos. Oh. this is, after watching and still intend to watch other KZbin videos, just not yours:-)

As someone who has visited the park multiple times a week for at least the past decade, is there anything specific from the video you take issue with? Unfortunately some violence has taken place there in more recent times, and I linked to news articles for anything discussed in the video notes in relation to that, nothing was made up. As for the urban legends, I was conveying what I had heard over the years as that kind of stuff can be interesting, but indicated that I didn’t necessarily believe any of the legends. The park is still a beautiful place that I visit at least a few times a week. In any public park that covers a lot of space inside of an urban city, you will have occasional crime and violence, so there’s nothing specific about the park that is unsafe, and really nothing you could do to 100% prevent that from happening. I obviously feel safe enough there to go around and record videos at night. I tried to be as respectful as possible while discussing things, and I don’t think I shared anything that was inaccurate.

Thanks, and I’ll have to do that in something upcoming, it’s difficult without briging an extra camera to grab some footage but I can figure something out. I have the original DJI Mic kit that I use for audio, and I just clip one of those onto the chest mount with the windscreen thing on it and record the audio to the internal storage the mics have and then I sync the audio in editing. When I’m on a motorcycle using a full face helmet, I can also clip the DJI Mic inside the helmet to get audio that way as well. I used an Insta360 One R 1” edition for the front camera, and an Insta360 Ace Pro for the rear camera. I had a camera backpack on that I used to house all of the stuff, so I clipped the Ace Pro camera to the back of the backpack.
