at least 2 or 3 hours a day everyday throughout your life. you have to be obsessed by it in order to reach professional level, just like a kid in order to become a pro footballer nas to play every single free time he has. make no mistakes, no on becomes great at something without huge effort. there are studies which analized the lives of hundreds of world record hokders on sports, artists and other people and they came to the conclusion that ao! the people they have interviewed had been practicing non stop since childhood. they gave the example of Cristiano Ronaldo that practices at home after coming from team trainning!when he was a kid here in Portugal, the team practice was over and he was known for starting late until all the lights were gone. he,s the perfect example of someone that got where he is by working very, very hard. you have to virtually spend almost every awake time you have into getting better...

Why is carl singing a song written by pete, pete has always been the lyricist, music when the lights go out for example.

Because why not? Carl has always been the musician, why does Pete play Carl's music? They've both done both lyrics and music, btw.

I think that's fair. There's something slightly more soulful and gravelly in Pete's voice that I rather like, but Carl's is crisper and more even.

I know what you mean dude but at the same time I can't really blame them. What you usually hear on the radio or whom you seen on tv would be the same artists. It's a safe bet to say that because our generation doesn't feel as their voices are being heard, they will begin loathing it. I can't really blame them for that lol! The best advice I can give to these kids is to keep searching for better music. I didn't find this group because of the radio; I had to search deep to find this gem of a band.

totally! i hate it when people say "i hate my generation!". There are always good bands to listen to. ALWAYS!

I feel you on that. I feel like Rock-N-Roll in general is one big passing of the torch. When the older generation begins to feel winded and can't go on, it is then passed to the newer generation. This patterns keeps on repeating forever. =)

i think the libertines have the same effect the Velvet Underground had. Not very famous but unbelievably influential on anyone who ever heard them.

I remeber that when they used to support bands like the vines and the strokes, they became famous. Pete doherty said something really nice that he was simply impressed by craig nicholls when he just danced to this song at the soundcheck and encouraged them. Pete liked the fact he didn't care about their image or whatever.More people should be like that, they should care only about the music, not what media says...also I think the vines are pretty underrated
