Clarkson is a pratt. What a wasted experience on a complete pillock. Knows F all about BoB , Spitfires or anything else WW2.The Hurricane was the backbone of Fighter Command during BoB. Shot down more German aircraft than all other defences combined.

55% vs 33(other sources say 45) %. Spitfire was still vital Spitfire had a better victory to number of squad too which is a good stat considering pilots and planes were outnumbered. Hurricane about 300 more victories

Here’s a funny story, My grandfather was a pilot with the RCAF in the CF104 and the CT114 era. At some point he was on a flight in a 114 (Tutor), and a spitfire pulled up next to him. The pilot wanted to race. So they did their countdown thing, and the spitfire was instantly gone, because the tutor didn’t have afterburners so it didn’t have the acceleration. It did eventually catch up but off the gun the spitfire won

Hitler would have just conquered Britain, not the entire world 😂😂 these British makes everyone thinks its them who really stopped Hitler..lol, when in actual reality they needed the, Americans, Aussies, newzealand and the Soviets to do the real fighting for them, battle of Britain would have been lost with the Allies.

I can understand Clarkson saying that it brings a tear to his eyes flying in a spitfire, it did to me when I had the lifetime privilege to fly in one. What an experience it was and an honour to fly in a machine that our heroes did in WW2. God bless them all.
