I've owned 3 Chevy Volts from both generations. We currently have a 2013 and a rare 2019. They are the most dependable cars I've ever owned. The Volt is even more complicated than a fully electric car, so I'm at a loss to see how they are floundering with the fully electric designs. A hybrid like the Volt is ideal for many people, as it can go 40-50 miles on a home plug-in charge then another 300 or so on gas at 38 mpg. I want that PHEV electric range in something new, but nobody is providing it, it seems.

I find it super duper hard to believe gm only lost $6k pet vehicle. They're ground up designs. Ford modified and used existing platforms and still loses between $100k per vehicle. Rivian is at about $40k. Lucid was $300k. This had to be a very vast bad guess because gm doesn't report those numbers. The middle class has been ready for EV's and want them but it's affordability and reliability that's missing from legacy auto. Most people I know are foaming at the mouth for a Tesla. ESPECIALLY once they've driven one but it's the affordability. Inflation is sinking the middle class.

Witnessed an EV using an empty rv space here in the desert southwest to re-juice. Plugged in for more than 3 hours with the temperature of 107. Setting in car with all doors and hatch back open. Seems this would take all the fun out of traveling 😂

There will be the differences between advertised, as opposed to actual statistics, the depreciation, and extra insurance costs, the worry caused by driving a possible death sentence. The people promoting, and pushing these vehicles, like dealers, ill informed politicians, the green party, could all potentially be accused of misinformation. Hope they have deep pockets!

All these unsold EVs are going to be an environmental disaster if they just sit and rot. Decommission these EVs and break up the battery into hybrid size chunks and remove the motors. You now have the components to make a hybrid truck like the Maverick. The rest of the EV that is compatible with the ICE model can go back into stock.

EVs are a rich man's toy, at least the ones worth buying with long-range, fast, and good quality.

I have a Bolt I’ve had it for three years and I’ve had little to no repairs needed and it cost me hardly anything to run so it breaks down at eight years. Yeah I’ll get a new one it run gone cheap. ice cars are expensive to run. You shouldn’t be getting into a car accidentanyway. The new platform from GM allows the battery to be repaired in different segments unlike the battery in my car which is one block. the companies deliberately restrict the amount of extra parts. Because they want you to buy it from them and it cost more.
