The IRC is probably the worst tire I ever had on a bike. Hates Sand or even just traces of sand. Doesn’t work in gravel, mud or wet grass. But as mentioned it’s a great road tire.
@2wheelingman20 күн бұрын
Well it is ok for what it was meant to be, a 70 road/ 30 dirt ( light dirt) but overall not a bad tire. I am currently running Dunlop D606 front/rear. Performance is great offroad
@vornamenachname8783Ай бұрын
And now with the rear tyre, please ^^. I don`t change tyres myself, just did it 3 times to practice. Some tyres ez, other like argh!!!! I use 3 levers and such paste for assembly for stiff tyres. Like K60 is a stiff piece but unbelievable robust. I never had a flat tyre in the off and am glad about that 😅.
@2wheelingmanАй бұрын
@@vornamenachname8783 The Dunlop D606 has very stiff sidewalls and require definitely more work to get them on , whereas the Motoz rallies were super easy. Yet, I expect at least 3000km out of them as a friend did with them. Motoz only around 1500km.
@vornamenachname8783Ай бұрын
@@2wheelingman yeah, that is the only con for me for the D606 in the rear. If... you have to change it on the track under bad conditions like heat, cold, rain, you are totally tired or whatsoever... it can be challenging to get off such stiff tyre. But I am still considering. I never had a flat tyre up to now on the bike, so Iprobally will give it a try and carry longer tyre levers with me in the off 😅.

Excellent video. I ordered the YSS shock and fork cartridge kit for my CRF300. Which I am fairly dissatisfied with. I really wish I had gone with the rally raid kit. Plus with the YSS fork kit the tools needed for installation are not included and if you don’t have a YSS approved shop install the kit your warranty is void.

So I have ridden about 1000 km in them so far. The front and rear handle great to me. Ride at 120 kph is stable on pavement. I Air down 12 psi while in the trails. For my skill level they are superb in mud, gravel loose pack. I thought I got a pinch front flat from doing sharp boulders, but it was from an hex key that got in during the tire change. I have to say , if it wasn't for the D606 strong sidewall, I wouldn't have been able to ride home the 80 km with zero psi ...lol. rode it at 80 kph on the straight but very slow in the corners. I think they are great tires.

@@2wheelingman That's awesome! I love my D606 especially compared to the OEMs which where just horrible! They are durable too. My friend put on the tractionators which are great for traction but they didn't last very long compared to the D606. Another main reason why I got that. Glad you are enjoying them. This bike has been so much fun and as a begginer on 2 wheels it was a great bike to start with. Now that I got more experience though, I would love to have a second bike for more road/touring. I want to adventure further! Or maybe go with middle or the road bike like the upcoming XL500T they announced for next year and stay with a 1 bike stable lol. Not sure what I want to do yet! I want to do Trans Quebec and Gaspe someday. I am not for from there (in NB) so I would like something I can tour on! One day lol. Hope winter is not too long and we can get to ride again soon! Cheers and enjoy the bike!

Glad you are enjoying the bike and tires. stock tires are great for the road, but horrible in the dirt. I had the Rallz Trationator in 1st. Really loved them, but only 3600 km out of them and very expensive now. If you still have the stock suspension I recommend to upgrade to the Rally Raid shocks. Changes the bike handling and ride dramatically and you enjoy it far more.

@@2wheelingman I only did the rear shock for now. Will do the front eventually if I decide to keep the bike. I put in a Ktech rear shock sprung to my weight and what a world of difference that made. It even made the front feel better. But I still want to do the front though. Expensive compared to the back lol. I also have a suggestion for you. The front sprocket cover that comes on stock picks up a lot of mud and dirt and needs to be removed to clean out. I changed mine out for a zeta cover and I never get any build up there anymore! More of a quality of life thing but not having to take that appart every few rides makes it worth it!

Thank you for watching. I try to pass on any knowledge I may have by trial and error ..lol The D606 are hard, but not as hard as the Dunlop trailmax missions. Those I put in my BMW F750GS and wow. Used the no-mar 24" spoons and wood blocks to keep the need in the rim drop center, which BMW has very little. I found the rear was easier than the front do to the width of the rim. Something I didn't do, that a subscriber mentioned was use a little soapy water to aid in getting the tire over the rim. I am in Saint-Zotique and often ride in Grenville before it disappears. Once again thanks for commenting and watching.

Using the Dunlop 606, you can lower your tyre pressure because the sidewalls are much stiffer. If you don’t lower the pressure, it’s like using your previous tyres @ 20psi instead of 14.
@2wheelingman Жыл бұрын
Exactly, I run them around 10 psi offroading. Infact the sidewall is so good I road home 80 km with no air, due to a pinched inner tube

The stock guard is the OEM part, the Amazon piece is an aftermarket part. The original is, in my opinion better, in that it offers more protection from debris, such as stones. The piece that was transferred is commonly known as a case saver, FYI.

I wanted to see you do the rear 606. I am sure that was twice as hard.
@2wheelingman Жыл бұрын
Hi Ed, actually the rear tire is easier to do because the rim is wider and you are able to get the side wall into the drop center of the rim allowing you to pry the last bite over the rim far easier than the front since it's a much narrower rim.
