How long do u usually wait at a spot before moving? Also, are you casting close to the shore? I got skunked in a boat at LV a couple days ago looking to get some next time.
@fishermanally26 күн бұрын
Don't stay too long in one place, 15mins max. As of now the water is colder, try using longer leader 3 to 4ft long cast deeper between 5 to 10ft deep. These are my method when the water is still cold. Hope this helps. Tight lines.

I took that drive on Christmas day before the family get together. It brings back memories of when I live in San Francisco and Antioch between 2000-2005. used to fish the San Joaquin side of Sherman Island overnight before they added the boulder wall on the levee road. Also, notice most of the levee roads had signs of private property and no fishing. The Outrigger Restaurant also no longer exists only filings the reason why the levee road is not maintained well.

It is sad that most of the good spots are no longer accessible. Back in the 80's almost all bank are fishable and big fish are being caught. Tight line my friend.

How do you tell the difference between Lassen and DFG trout?

I was on the CD2 that day, the current was fast, shifting our 28oz weight in all directions and if you don’t listen to the deckhands you will get tangled up with everyone on the boat and that’s what happened. It gets frustrating especially when you are in 300ft plus deep water. You wouldn’t max out on Lingcods and Rockfish without the crew and captain! Your stomach would not have any good hot food without chef Tammy! I can say lots of negative comments about the people on that day but I made the best of it. Had a great time fishing and yes I cheated trying my new electric reel and it worked great! So, if you want to get out and fish I highly recommend CD and CD2 !
@fishermanally3 ай бұрын
I remember you. Thanks for giving me the sabiki rig. Yes, lots of people was really frustrated that day, not just the tangled but of the deckhand was being disrespectful to them. IMO, These anglers are paying customers they don't deserve to be treated as such. Almost Every charter boats nowadays have microwave.
@TinaW-z4s3 ай бұрын
You’re very welcome, the deckhands were not being disrespectful. People were supposed to listen, instead they get tangled up with me using 16oz weights instead of 28oz and that makes more work for the deckhands. We are paying customers but we have an obligation to do the right thing. I fish almost every weekend and believe me customers are not always right.
@fishermanally3 ай бұрын
@@TinaW-z4s Disrespectful was the word, Not "Customer is always right" big difference. This is the sentiment coming from some of the anglers. These anglers have the right for their own Subjective. There's a Vessel i was on and they are very successful the Captain and Crew, because They both accept compliments and criticism.

This captain should be reported to f&g and to the division that hands out licenses for review. It costs a lot of money to fish on boats and a bad captain can reflect on the whole fleet. Not good.

I think the same Captain was once had been reprimanded.
@tadaosuwa12533 ай бұрын
@@fishermanally Then maybe he needs to have his Captain's license taken away. There is no place for somebody charged with other peoples lives, to disregard regs and make trips with paying customers get less than they are entitled to. maybe there are others who would join you in the complaint.
