great video. thank you.and beautiful board. I will be getting a couple of your molds for sure. I have tried 1 river board in. the past. I am no expert with epoxy but I did exactly what you did in this video. I let it cure for 3 days then ran it through my planer. spiral cutter and sharp blades but after the planer the epoxy had ton s of little chip outs. what would cause that? the only thing I can think is air bubbles but I thought I popped them all. it was died black so maybe I missed a bun ch???? help me please. I want to kn ow before your molds show up so I don't mess them up. thank you

I'm concerned about the cross rails flexing. How rigid are they? Thanks
@CraftedElementsКүн бұрын
As far as deflection, our bars are made of 20mm solid steel. As long as you are pushing and pulling the sled, and not applying downward pressure as you go, deflection is not an issue. We have sold over 1000 router sleds at this point so I can safely say none have been returned for any deflection issue.

Maybe rubbing alcohol? It gets rid of the bubbles.

I use isopropyl alcohol to take off glue stick. It weakens the glue nicely.

Nice if you are able to recommend the flowers after treatment to purchase too. I want to do a similar one like yours, but limited options to buying such flpwers online.

How do I make sure my base for the whole assembly is flat?
@CraftedElements16 күн бұрын
A 6' level works to make sure its flat. You could also build a torsion box frame and then put plywood on top of that to make sure its flat.

Question, How can i use or can I use soft woods like pine in cutting board projects? Would the resin be good enough or hard enough to cover the wood to make the cutting board good enough?
@CraftedElements17 күн бұрын
Generally not a great idea, knives and utensils will mark soft woods much easier.
@poppopwalker17 күн бұрын
@@CraftedElements Is the resin a hard enough material to cover the wood and act as a chopping area? Sorry, i know nothing about this yet, but I'm extremely interested and wanting to start!!
@CraftedElements17 күн бұрын
@@poppopwalker If you wanted to fully cover the wood, it would get a "hard" resin surface. But keep in mind cutting on resin isn't ideal, it will scar as well. If you are using cutting board and serving board interchangeably that's different. You can serve food on resin if you aren't cutting or scoring it.
@poppopwalker17 күн бұрын
@@CraftedElements ahhh ok, that's understandable. Now I know!
