Excellent video, but your other videos are on basketball, and I hate basketball, don't collect them,a boring sport, I like hockey, most videos look over the greatest sport,why is this? Seems like hockey gets no respect.😢 Please make a hockey video,the greatest sport, Gordie Howe,Orr,Hull,Richard. Thank you.😊

The hot packs for 94’95 were only available on top on the wax box so unfortunately the only way you knew it was a hot pack is that the pack was placed sideways on the top of the wax box when you opened it. I have 3 hot packs for this year when I bought a case I got 4 total hot packs I found out they were hot packs after opening the sideways placed pack and then when I proceeded to open the boxes I found the sequence to be they paced it up too and sideways.

Myslabs fee is 2% + 3.5% + 0.35 (basically paypal fee + 2%) and you have to give free shipping. So, I add $8 extra to every card for shipping.

I'm back! Facebook groups are king in Australia, seems to have evolved that way given there aren't that many decent sized local card stores. Still a lot of shenanigans in the wild west of trading card markets though...pretty high percentage of time wasters, non-payers, spam accounts etc. You can only do so much to police a Facebook group.

Welcome back! I've been wondering where you went to. Makes sense that Facebook groups are the big thing in Australia. But, yeah, definitely comes with its risks.

Great vid, was curious about this myself. Any expereince with the COMC pre-screening service? I'd at least hope that service would screen out nearly all PSA 6s or 7s....
@scoa
@scoa 27 күн бұрын
I did do a pre-screen on three cards so far, all three of them came back suggested not to send for grading (so basically I paid $5 for what would normally be a $2 elite listing with a better scan). I sent one of them off anyways (a Finest Durant rookie) and it ended up getting a PSA 9. That's been the entirety of my pre-screening experience. I did do a couple of card grading things that ended up really low though, so had I done this, it might have helped me. $5 is just kind of a lot, I'm already like 1/4th of the way to just paying for grading there, so it's hard for me to justify using the service much.

Good video. I’d only add you have to invest time and money into the Facebook groups. I buy/sell for so long I’m well known in many groups. My reputation is vouched in many groups but this doesn’t happen over night. I’ll add my reputation is as important as a credit or feedback score too. I go out of my way to make sure I’m personal follow up with the Facebook groups members. IMO this is my preferred way to buy and sell singles. I can also get cash faster than any other market place

im wondering why the red prizm /299 sells for so much more than other cards numbered to /299 or lower
@scoa
@scoa Ай бұрын
@XYouVandal it's inconsistent. Some colors do seem to more often be a bit more popular though, so may occasionally go for more. Sometimes it seems like hobby box parallels sometimes do a bit better than retail box parallels too. But it's all inconsistent. I haven't noticed red specifically, but I've definitely seen gold /10 or something like tie-dye /25 or cherry blossom /20 go for more than green /5. It's just about what look people like, more demand means higher sales price.

I don’t believe that all of them will turn green. I’m a Jordan collector and I don’t buy any card that has any greening on it. I have copies of some cards that are commonly known to green, and they are absolutely perfect and show no signs of it. I think it’s all about the printing process. Some cards will green and some won’t. If a card hasn’t started greening after 25-30 years then another 25-30 years isn’t going to change anything. But that’s just my opinion
@scoa
@scoa Ай бұрын
@tyjohnson692 I hope you are right! I don't know for sure, but it does seem like the pace of greening can range widely. If it hasn't greened yet, still seems possible to me. But I hope they don't! There's some awesome cards in those years.

I personally consider there to be a huge difference between kurts approach & taking out a pair of sheers and slicing off an edge of a card. I believe there's a clear difference between altering (cutting off pieces or coloring in with a marker/colored pencil) and cleaning a card whether it just wiping off smudges or as far as soaking a card.
@scoa
@scoa Ай бұрын
@JeffreyMello I personally would consider soaking a card altering it, in a pretty similar vein as a slight trim. Both are doing something that may at first be hard to detect, but that are changing the card in pretty fundamental ways. Plus, with the soak, it seems like it could effect the card later too. I had a card once where the cardboard and the chromium layer once just suddenly separated themselves cleanly from each other on a card i bought, I wouldn't be surprised if some sort of soak from a previous owner was the culprit. I don't know for sure, but it makes logical sense that a chemical composition could create that sort of effect.

You take Keane as a good example on how to have success. His KZbin connects to his buyers and he runs 200-400 cards almost every night and starts everything at $1 and does "sudden death" auctions and he has built his brand and gets 60-100 people per night. But it's so much work, such a grind and 3-4 hours after in preparing shipping.

@LetsStormTheTeaCupRide
@LetsStormTheTeaCupRide Ай бұрын
@@scoa What Keane does right is "sudden death" auctions. He starts everything at a buck and there is no time to research comps or anything and after five or ten seconds of bidding, cards valued at $2 sell for $7. You don't even have time to react as the show goes by so quickly. It's wild.
@scoa
@scoa Ай бұрын
@@LetsStormTheTeaCupRide Yeah, COMC live auctions can be like that sometimes too, if the timing is right. Keane getting a big audience and making high profit on that makes sense. It does really show how off people can be on estimating comps though.

In my opinion, even if they did detect a trace amount of something, that Wemby card is huge. PSA wants their name on cards like that. I doubt they would ever decertify it knowing how big the card is for the hobby and their reputation

I can make profit off a whole submission without getting any PSA 10's... it's all about the specific cards that are graded and know what collector's have an interest in. Find a niche and get really good at knowing how those sets grade then expand.

I ordered cards over a period of about two-weeks, then hit the 'weigh all' button, and it took about a month to get my shipment weighed and then another month before it was sent, and then another week before it arrived. All in, I got the cards 2.5-3 months after I won them in auction. That being said, in my recent purchase, they got it to weighing my package within about a week, so they may be speeding up.

As tempting as it is to move everything to COMC I just can’t get past the fact that after I pay all the fees to list and sell my cards that I then am charged another 10% to get my cash. That’s absolutely wild imo when many consignment sellers will do an ACH payment free into your checking or savings account.
@scoa
@scoa Ай бұрын
Yeah, I could understand that. I did make a video awhile back that looked at the actual fee structure with concrete examples and what I found was that all things added in, the amount COMC takes in the end and the amount eBay takes in the end almost evened themselves out, especially if you do a handful of listings with eBay promotions. I personally use a good amount of my COMC sales to buy other cards as well (either for my pc or to flip on the platform or to flip to sell elsewhere), in which case they don't take that 10%. But I do understand what your saying, that cash-out fee ain't my fav.

But I'm not actually sure what they are declaring when they ship it off.
